car accident when i fell asleep...
I'll buy the whole engine or whole car, dead serious, if you get it totaled out, find out what the buy back is for the car and I'll come get it plus a couple hundred for YOU for a finder's fee, I need parts for next season. If the car is mangled, it's cool I'll just cut up another cobalt with front end damage and stitch the whole thing back together.
You can take apart the unibody structure with a drill and grinder, they have a bit made for drilling out the spot welds and so forth, then the NEW piece can be tacked in just the same, I saved an RX7 by this method.
id stay away from that if your wanting power/fuel economy. my buddy had one that whent threw about 6 motors and several trannys, he also beat the complete **** of of it. very comfortable/surprizing handling thoe.

So do you live in toga or Michigan?
That's B.S., but it might not be totalled. My car endured over 10k in repairs (twice!!) and wasn't totalled due to also being "worth so much."
Today, the car isn't even worth 10k, so IMO I made out because I have a brand new front and rear end as well as swirl-free paint on a 4 season daily driven car with 55k

You're stuck with the damn thing and now need to pay for a flat bed to take it to a junk yard. that's the only reason I didn't buy back my other cobalt that was totaled.

yeah, the only crappy thing about buying a car back after it's totaled and parting it out is typically the shell.

Insurance adjuster is coming in the next two days. Im going to be concentrating on the fight to get money as i no im going to get low-balled... ill keep people posted when parts are available....
Ide say buy it back cause once u done parting it out u can scrap it... they will pick it up and pay u... I did this with one of my old 5.0s and when all was said and done I ended up with like 1500 profit... but sry bout the whole thing... it happend to me 2 years ago a snow plow truck basically pan caked my car when it lost contoll around the turn by my house....

Wasn't use to the steering wheel being so sensitive
Well my SS/tc was rear ended this evening on my way to work, it made me hit the jeep wrangler in front of me so now I'm kinda in the same boat, except I'm pretty sure mine wont be totaled out, this sux ***, I'm so ****ed right now......sad sad day....
I'm not sure if this is correct but I have been told that if the cost to repair is over 1/2 the value of the car its totalled. If thats the case then $8k or $9k would meant totalled. That sucks dude. Is your car paid off?
its if the damage is worth more then the car....then its totaled but it may vary from insurance company's

Well bad news. My roughly $6500 in reciepts for aftermarket parts has added $5000 to the value of my vehicle. Allstate is now trying to tell me that they won't total it. Before the reciepts we were golden, but not now. So now I have to go to battle and try to get more damages to the car.
