Car is down again! Only 4700 mi!!!!

******* awesome two oil leaks tpms system replacement and now my ******* shifter linkage(I'm assuming) just snapped. Waiting on road side assistance now.

Was going from 2nd to 3rd (passing a car so somewhat hard) and the linkage went bink! And now it can be moved around freely and I can't select any gears.

I love this car but gm is really making this hard.

sorry to hear that I have 19700 and I have only had rear break problems

Sucks, but I'm guessing this is what happened as it is common in the SS/TC's.

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-guide-43/how-reattach-cable-link-shifter-88966/

Very easy to reattach, unless it really legit broke, which is what mine did (the little cup thing). Best of luck.

Im thinking about asking the dealership to do GMS1 for free, or discounted for my troubles with this car or I make them take it back.

Any way you guys suggest approaching this?

I just figured it'd be better than making them buy the car back lol. Because, I am starting to feel wanting to do that.

lol not even close to lemon law....but ok.

ur under warranty and road side is free. I do wish someone made a upgraded linkage though. Mine is randomly hard to go into 1st and R. But no breaking of linkage yet.

That's all you need: more problems.

You do realize nls is better for the transmission than regular shifting correct? These post crack me up. The computer adjust rpms to the correct rpm. Without nlsing you Re going into a non adjusted rpm.

Also I power shifted my gto for 45k with no problems. If I can't use a feature that's advertised then the car is junk.

GM is not going to buy it back. Cobalts are entry leval econo boxes, if you take the time to go through the thousands of posts you will see your not the only one in the same boat. There are posts after posts of people having problems with their Cobalt. What do you expect for a boosted car for $23,000 new. You get what you pay for

you also didn't have a shift linkage to potentially snap in your GTO.. can't compare the 2 cars like that

True. I didn't think about that. I'm just aggravated with the car. I love the car it's just being a pita and it sucks.
