I need help changing the map lights in my car. The only part I can't get is getting the stock bulb out, does anyone have any tricks on how to get them out?? Cause it seems impossible

i used needle nose or curved needle nose, got behind the bulb a bit (so ur pulling on the base of the bulb as apposed to the bulb part).
dont squeeze instead use a lever action beind the bulb and it will pop out

I never changed mine in the cobalt, but in the WRX I just bend the nodes enough to be able to slide it out...

I hope your changing to LED, because it's the best mod I ever done to my interior!

Just take some small channel locks and grab ahold of the bulb, squeeze ever so gently (enough to just get a grip on it) and pull down.

Worked for me no problem

I must've lucked out. I was able to rock mine back and forth with my finger and pull them out lol. LEDs are definitely worth it. Give the car a nicer feel.

The easiest way is to take some fishing line or dental floss tie a small slip knot and put the loop around the bulb. Pull the loop tight then pull on the line to remove the light

I have these in a 9 LED version:

30 High Power LED Rectangle PCB Lamp w/ Festoon Base | LED Lights for Cars | 12v | Super Bright LEDs

Costly, but worth it.

I just changed mine last week and replaced them with LEDs. I used dental floss. I made a slip knot and put it around the base really tight and pulled. It's easier if you take your mirror off

Wedge two small screwdrivers in there.

I used needle nosed pliers with the end wrapped in double sided tape. That way you don't have to squeeze as hard and risk breaking the bulb
