Has anyone changed the pads on their brembos yet and if so how the hell do get the pins out that hold them in????? I've tried beating them out but i can't get them to budge.

Wasn't there a how-to on brake changing...?

That aside, are you talking about guide pins, caliper pistons...?

have to use a punch to get them out, perferably brass so it won't damage the pins.

I'm talking about the pins that hold the pads in the calipers.

I was using a punch but still didn't move, was wondering if there was a carter pin that i was missing or something.

Um because without taking the pins out then the pad will not come out. (you must not have an SS/TC therefore you don't have brembo's)

Take the little retainer clip out and use a punch to drive the pin out. At least thats how every other Brembo caliper i've dealt with works (Evo, STi, my 350Z).

use a rubber mallet to bang them out and then a vice grip plyer to pull them out.

24,000 miles.... however.... the fronts didnt need to be replaced and the backs were completely defectived and destroyed. so I replaced everything.

The front pads had plenty of life left in them, all most brand new like. I would guess they'd have made it to 50,000 miles or more.

Just a word of caution:

When replacing the front brakes, be careful not to mess with the speed sensor (or any senors in general). When I replaced my front pads and rotors (R1 slotted and Hawk pads), I had to bring my car to the dealer and have the sensor recallibrated. I'm still not sure what I did, but just be careful when working around that area.

I only had 8,000mi on mine and i replaced the stockers because of squealing issues. I took both sides apart and the backing plate wasn't even fastened on, so that was the problem. They did look evenly worn, though. I replaced them with the Hawk HPS and it's a night and day difference, especially since my rears are also Hawk pads!

I'm getting a bad little squeeling noise under about 30 miles per hour and then at about 10mph is goes away. Starting to worry be a bit.
