So you might be screwed on that one

shrug....
that is just too much for a sport, GM took advantage of people who knew that was an ex-SS and there was no SS/SC available any more.
Reminds me about GM thinking about selling only a 4 cyl turbo camaro and a v6 camaro version and selling it for more then the Ford GT stang v8

Ok, so here it goes. Dealer rationale for the price difference between Canadian and American cars is that despite the par dollar, the car was built at a time when there was a difference in the dollars. So the price of the car here had to reflect that difference in the exchange rate.
However, seeing how the two dollars have been close for a long time now, and considering that the new cobalt has only begun being built since the dollar has been par (or extremely close to it), the price of the car SHOULD be almost exactly the same.
I say SHOULD, but I know we'll continue to get ass-fucked.
I think I might wait 6 months and then get one. By then i can get a better deal. My dad works for GM and gets a great discount. Also they birthday bonus, lol. Well I guess I will just have to wait and see. I am sure they will also put some kind of rebate on the car as well. I would say at least $500, maybe even a $1000. Who knows. I know I might get one if they hold thier value better unlike the current cobalt models.

I already get $500 off for just being in the military. I'm seriously reconsidering what I'm going to get as my next vehicle. Planned on keeping in the SUV/truck ranks, but gas prices keep going up. God damn 12mpg. That 30mpg highway for a turbo 4cyl Cobalt SS is really really enticing. Even I'd be using premium it still would end up being cheaper. 14 gallon(?) tank in the balt, 20 something in the hoe.
Thats pretty rough, ya figure 400ish a month for Payments IF you get a good interest rate then for me atleast another 230ish a month for insurance so 630 a month when i only make a grand a month anyway (im a college student so i work retail until i graduate and can get a real job)
Also ALL GM cars and trucks come with a 5 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, and this was done back in 2006 for the 07+ models before Chrysler unveiled it's lifetime powertrain warranty.
99% of the HU's used today are made by Panasonic or Denso(with some Fujitsus shortly after Delphi stopped supplying) The Cobalt head units are Panasonics, as are most of the ones that look like the Cobalt HU, most of the NAV headunits are made by Denso. And the Pioneer systems only have Pioneer speakers, the HU is still a Panasonic, in fact the only real difference between the unit in my LS and in someones Pioneer equipped Sport/SS is that the face is silver and the audio is a low level output instead a full power signal. They even use the same electrical connectors.
There is no discussion regarding NOT having a V8. There is however as you pointed out, consideration being given to using the LNF as the bae engine.
Pricing from my dealership
23640, INCLUDING destination, LSD ($450) and road-racing-wing ($195) (RRW) options.
Invoice was/is $22793
GMS was/is $21794
Supplier was/is 22768
GMS is obviously the best deal with the $1000/discount - 20794 + 0% if you can pull it off.
Given the low margins it was tough to talk them down, but I'm working on something...
EDIT: As for the $450 for LSD, that's what they told me it cost. I'm not sure about the numbers I'm calling again on Monday...crazy. Anyone have a GMS number I can use :-)
Heheh, guns.

How did your dealership get that detailed pricing? The car isnt even active on the Dealership Employee(GMS) website yet.
Well it doesnt really matter because they are screwing you anyway, the car with those options AND destination is only $23,685.
LOL

22995 - base (includes destination, just forgot about that)
450 - lsd
195 - wing
660 - desty
the MSRP would be $24300, less destination is $23640, which is the price I was quoted, MSRP anyway.
So, where do you get the $23685, would you be kind enough to break it down? Including the discount, if any.
Thanks
JK
