Cobalt Sold

I work for a chevy dealer in york, pa and we just got a 09 sport red tint coat in and it is already sold. it is equipped with the a pillar display which i looked on the sticker and is only a $295 option. with all the options this thing has on it it brought the price to about 25,600. thats alot but i guess still cheaper than its counterparts from other brands. i just thought it was cool because it was the first one i saw with the reconfigured display. just me two cents.

I'm jealous of that!

You could always go onto Edmunds.com and build the 09 with all the options you want and it will show you the MSRP and the invoice price...

Cheaper than say, a Mustang. Yes.

But God almighty, 26k for a Cobalt?

What in the heck is this world coming to.

I dont like how that display is so freakin big. They could have made the gauge more round. I don't know how it is now that it is released, but last I saw it, it looked awkward in the car.

To all that have a new SS\TC or 09' model on order: These cars have been tested over and over by lots of engineers and all I can say is the stock exhaust is more than good enough for upto 350hp , it's 2.5" and the same goes for the CAI. Leave them stock till you're getting into the 350+ hp range. Both show almost no improvement in flow or temp changes that are enough to justify forking over tons of hard earned $$ for something that might give you 3-5 hp which is pretty useless!. The down pipe, re-tune and a intercooler might be the few things that are worth their weight in gold for now. And as for the person\vender charging $600 for charge-air piping and maybe a few extra hp, please!!! maybe $250.

So who cares if it shows little to no response? I make a lot of money, and if I choose to blow some on parts that I think upgrade the look and sound of the car, and will be useful when the tuning and upgrades come along to support them, why not?

I plan to upgrade all of the supporting parts, exhaust, cai, charge piping, intercooler, and by that time someone will have the turbo upgrade and the tuning will be fully supported, all I will have to do is bolt on the new turbo and tune it. If not, I will notice a change in MPG and will love the sound of the car. Also, I dont know about the downpipe upgrades that are out right now. The stock downpipe is 3", the cats are the restrictive part, and personally, I like keeping my car legal, and like the fact that it is a ULEV now.. removing the cats will increase emissions, and I feel better about one less car helping pollute the planet.

Just because these parts dont make much difference RIGHT NOW doesnt mean they wont in the future. And I LOVE the sound of the Hahn 3" catback!
