Haven't seen anything yet but as soon as GM releases it I'll update the original post. Since the Cobalt just went out of production fairly recently it might be another few months before we can get numbers from them.

 

Who know's ...... people are still waiting on SS/SC production numbers. It may be awhile before we see anything .

Back when they released the info we have .... they were trying to give us something cause the stage kits kept getting pushed back.... otherwise we might not have any numbers lol.

I wish I wasnt in the sunroof statistic though. I've NEVER had my sunroof open or the shade pulled back. Just not my thing.... for all I know the thing doesnt work anymore.

Yep, and i bet at least a 1/3 of them have been totaled, was thinking that mongorat said maybe even more than that based off the amount he has pulled parts from in the junk yards. The turbo ss's are like the 10th most expensive car to ensure at my company because of the horsepower, low cost, and wrecks.

HERE is the thread that I made;
I found a discrepancy that I've surmised to be because the GM Tuner Source numbers were for USA-destined cars only (so those published numbers were for all non-Z49 cars).

I find it funny that this thread being mostly from 2009 has been brought back to life all of a sudden!

 

I'm guessing alot more than 1/3 have been written off.
Back when these were new, it seemed like every day there were three or four new threads on yet another TC being written off...

They did that for some items - they were invoiced as going with the car, but they were items which were (I believe) shipped with the car, and only installed prior to delivery;
For 2010, this was the only way to "customize" your car (well USA cars had the option of LSD or not, but Canadian cars all came with the LSD)...

IIRC they also did this with:
Wheel locks
"All weather" floor mats
"Highrise" spoiler (this was removed from the factory options late in the '09 model year.

 

My 2009 SS/TC sedan has an "OAR - Pre-Production" option RPO code and I don't see it listed on the original post. So how rare would that make my Summit White SS/TC sedan?

 

Close....the dealer got the options shipped to them usually before the vehicle even arrived. But yes...the dealers installed them after delivery


As for preproduction option..that is usually listed for most vehicles as a standard option..like a wiring harness that fits all cars with all options. Like if your car came with every option except heated seats the body harness might be cheaper to make them with so your harness might have the plugin under the carpet. Lots of other variables but something like that
