hey everyone! if you jus read my latest post you will know that I finally just got the Red/Ebony interior for my 2008 Cobalt SS Turbo! I love it.

What I wanna do next is get the steering wheel re-upholstered red and black to get the look of the saturn sky redline turbo or the Mazda RX-8 steering wheel which was the main inspiration for my whole Red/Ebony project. Like this.....

Now...... Buying the Saturn Sky Redline steering wheel is not an option because i goes for like $500 bucks at a GM dealer and the odds of find one at a wreckers or online is slim to none since they are rare as it is. Anyways it wouldnt work because the red on the steering wheel isnt the exact same red color that is used on the Red/Ebony seats in my Cobalt SS Turbo so thats out of the question.

So what i wanna know is this........is there a color code or even a name for the red color used on the Red/Ebony interior. Its not Victory Red like the Victory Red Cobalt SS Turbos because ive seen pics of the Victory Red Cobalt SS Turbos with the Red/Ebony interior and it dosent match.....actually looks like **** because they dont match up really.

Or is there anyway i could somehow match the color from my Red/Ebony interior? Anyways im gonna get someone to re upholster the steering wheel and i gotta get it spot on match!

Drive it to an upholstery shop and the person there will be able to color match. The color code and stuff probably doesn't matter. The hardest thing to match will be texture if it is not the same material... So I would say instead of a full leather wrapped where one leather's grain will be different, maybe do something like your seat material so the mismatch looks intentional.

ya see thats another problem I have......its gotta look stock. I want it to feel and look the exact same way that it does right now with the black.

Just see if the upholstry place can get some alcantra or whatever its called that is in the seats. That would look pretty damn sexy ant it would feel like a little piece of heaven for your hands.

Well to each his own. An upholstery shop should be able to match the grain and color you want pretty darn good. If your car is in storage right now then go take them a door panel and the steering wheel and tell them you want that color on that wheel to match the black grain.
