concern with my ss/tc
concern with my ss/tc
I just picked up a 08 ss/tc victory red red/black interior, sunroof, lsd and 6 disc. my concern is I have about 220 miles on car and when I accel in 2nd and so on the car feels like its misfiring or the exhaust is blocked the car just falls on its face????? anyone see this in the first 500miles
It's prob fine. You just have a feeling.
You're expecting massive amounts of power that comes on all at once...that isn't happening so the, it must be broken mentality kicks in...
A misfire would be a pretty definitive hickup or jump in the engine. Are you getting that or is just a not so abrupt, but linear power delivery from 3k to redline??

Ive heard other people say similar things and i believe it has to do with the fact that the ecu is cutting power and adding power on and off to keep it at 260.
makes sence since the dynos i have seen show the power jump into the 300's then cut back down and then from there the dyno is pretty up down.
but **** you got warranty. might as well be sure.

i understood him just fine....
to the op
it deff sounds like you have an issue that should be looked at asap and op please stop making it do it... (you shouldent even be wot if you just got it yesterday)
and why the **** does it have 220mi if you just got it yesterday? unless you have a long drive home which case if you even bothered to read the manual it says break in period
"do not go over 55 for the first 500mi and do not hold rpm's at a steady speed for long periods of time vary rpm's and speed for first 500mi" so freeway or highway is not recomended for 500mi
can we say joy riding! sounds like the dealership wanted to see just how fast it really was...

the car was driven 160miles to my dealer because it was trader because my car never came in. (which came in today). I did one hard accel and the car don't feel right.... I will continue to break in and see what happens
thanks man its not the black I had on order but I love the red. I got it from ricart. my black one came in today lmao. you should go get it or the red one at bob's.

not saying anything like your cars fucked or nothing but i dont think it was the smartest move...
continue to break it in and then see what happens, just go to the dealership and tell them your concerns and have them put it on paper so you have it for the future say it turn out to be a lemon or some recall issue... i read that you probably didnt recieve the other one because lots of cars were having turbo issues and the trucks were stopped dead in there tracks... who's to say some didnt slip by and make its way into your hands...
i never buy vehicles that just came out wether its a new engine or whole new plattform theres bound to be some issue's if i were you i would of waited till 09'
i looked at the cobalts for a year and a half before i got one... it was hard to wait but i did

if you follow these guidelines:
Do not drive at any one constant speed, fast or
slow, for the first 500 miles (805 km). Do not
make full-throttle starts. Do not exceed 5,000
engine rpm. Avoid downshifting to brake or
slow the vehicle.
Avoid making hard stops for the first 200 miles
(322 km) or so. During this time the new brake
linings are not yet broken in. Hard stops
with new linings can mean premature wear and
earlier replacement. Follow this breaking-in
guideline every time you get new brake linings.
Do not tow a trailer during break-in. See Towing
a Trailer (Manual Transmission) on page 4-34
or Towing a Trailer (Automatic Transmission)
on page 4-34 for the trailer towing capabilities
of your vehicle and more information.
Following break-in, engine speed and load can
be gradually increased.

Even if it does, it won't cause what the OP is describing. Not in a DI engine, anyway.

take it to the dealer, and try to talk to the techs before anyone touches it. try to find out who is the most knowledgable and who seems like they care to get it fixed right the first time. don't want a numbskull messing with your brand new car.
