WRX's have always sounded like gruffy lawn mowers to me. I know the WRX group claims the H4 sounds almost like a V8 with the right mods, but it's still a very far cry from a OHV V8 or a OHC V8. I love the sound of the stock exhaust on my Mustang's 4.6 3V V8, but the SS/TC's exhaust sounds meh in stock form.

Whatever Lotus did to the Toyota 4-banger engine to make it sound great seems to work. I would like to see that on the Cobalt instead of another Magnaflow fart-can sound kit.

Our car is never going to sound like a R1 , a bike sounds like a bike because of displacement ....1000cc's spread across 4 cylinders . 250cc per hole sounds alot different than 500cc's that our car is per cylinder. Besides, whats the R1 redline at? 13K-14K rpm? lol

On another topic ..... My car sounds good to me ...till i let off lol. I can do a short pull to 4500 rpm and let off and it sounds like someone opens a cut out right when i lift . I'll have to video it and show everyone.

The valve timing changes drastically when you go to no load. Mine sounds the same way catless.

It's got a resonance that builds at 2k rpm too.
