No one has the ******* conti tires in stock.
I didn't want to spend the dime to switch over to All-seasons yet, but it looks like I'm going to have to...

Hey you got a flat? Yeah I was at a Discount Tire in Canton shortly after the SS/TC came out getting one of my Pirelli P Zero Nero all seasons replaced and a css.net member (staticspider) was there with his SS/TC and I believe he had similar problems...

I like my Bridgestone Potenza's...they have the best performance in all weather (based on TireRack tests and surveys), but are also a bit pricey. They only complaint I have is that they don't have a rim guard like the stock Conti's...

Yeah I got a flat 2 months after buying my car. Nobody carried the p-zero rosso so I had to wait a week to get a new one from tiresavings.com.
Got the insurance though, so now if anything happens to any of my tires I can just get it replaced.

I heard the same thing about them not being available (wtf!?).
If anyone is interested, I had my stock continentals replaced with all seasons. I'm selling all four for $325, they only have 1900 easy-driven miles on them

I bought the BFG G-force SuperSports. I love 'em... no complaints at all.
One word of warning about the Bridgestones.
SOME members have had problems because the Bridgestones are not XL rated. The stock Conti's are as well as the BFG's.

It's like that with a lot of cars. "factory tires" even on many performance cars aren't as good as they should be. Yeah by now you would have also thought that GM would of at least offered an option between summer perf tires and all seasons.

Yeah, the cars that were sent to the north, and especially Canada should have received allseasons for sure. Continental must have given Gm a killer deal on those tires or something. For those of us in the south, I think they should have offered someting in the extreme performance summer category Dunlop Z1 star specs, RE01Rs, Advan AD07s etc. This would only help the handling our our cars even more.

XL stands for extra load, but why would the even be necessary on our cars, they weigh in at less than 3000lbs. Each tire is rated at ~1400lbs 1400 x 4 = 5600lbs. Our GVW is ~4000lbs so there is really no point except that they are a little stiffer than non XL tires. If one of my tires goes down I will be replacing with Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star spec tires. I dont really care for the continentals, they feel soft and imprecise to me. The sidewalls roll over very easily on these tires, if you dont believe me, look at some of the track photos the magazines have shot you can see that the car is well planted, but the tires are rolling inward badly. Sorry to rant and thread jack, but I think GM should have looked at other tires choices when they built our cars.

All I know is the pirelli tires that came stock on my car are the worst tires I've ever had traction is horrible especially in the rain an I had to have the dealer put two new ones on the front because they were peeling apart

100% agree! I hated them. I swapped for a set of 225/40's falcons and the road noise was less and the bumps weren't as harsh.

a couple of weeks ago, i was driving behind someone at night...
they swerved hard...i didnt have enough time to react, and ran over what he swerved to miss...
it was some sort of chunk of concrete or something....not huge mind you but big enough...
it was a hard enough impact to give me that whole sick to my stomach feeling...
got home checked things out in the garage...nothing
no rim damage no lost air...
a couple of days later a small bulge or bubble in the sidewall....
went to dealer...talked to the semi hot parts girl and she said "what did you hit"...told her the story...
she checked it out said it was small compared to some she had seen...
i asked if it was dangerous ,she said..."not dangerous not safe either"...
she explained to me that the steel belts in the side wall were not broken but separated from impact causing the bubble...
thats when we went inside, and she told me what the OP said...267.00....287 and change, to have it mounted...
i didnt get wheel/tire coverage...
she did tell me a funny story too...
some high school senior got an ss/tc and hit a curb hard...like head on or something screwed his front wheels and tires up bad...
had it towed to the dealer, and she checked, no wheel/tire coverage...
he had to tell his dad the amount of damage, and he had to file an insurance claim just to get them replaced....
i think like 544.00 per wheel and 267.00 per tire....
and i thought buying the tire sucked!....
