no you just need to take off the o2 very carefully. Try not to wind up the wires too much near each end so it doesnt pull the wires out of the o2 or the plug.

It's easier to just unplug the O2 sensor.

I couldnt find the plug...but i found a socket I thought was the plug...then said f it and had rallyracer hold the wires and I turned the o2 out without damage.

Yeah that'll happen, when you tune it it'll go away, and you'll feel the extra power!

Nobody on this forum worries about screwing up your mixtures when your O2 sensor is reading forced values when tuned, or when reading poor values when the CEL comes on when not tuned?

It's just the rear o2. It's not used for mixture calculations. Mainly used to determine if the cat. is functioning and that is why its not really necessary.

So driving around with a cel on when I have my catless do on won't cause any harm or damage at all?

^^^nope did it on my evo8 for like a year (about 12k mi)....NO PERFORMANCE ISSUES...just telling u that ur cat isn't working "efficiently!" if there's no cat, it cant be operating "efficiently"

hey...isn't it tru that with GM stage1 "learn down" is mostly turned off???? if so, shouldn't someone with gms1 feel the added power of a DP a lil more?!?!? just asking...thought i read that in another thread a while back.....

tune for dp= slight raise in low end timing, and some other odds and ends and giggity giggity goo.. big difference, but not a giant difference.

your tuner will probably disable those annoying codes too, but no issues.

lol at 02 sensor unplugging, wonder how that would affect your fuel trims?

so a driver in a gms1 car WOULD or WOULD NOT feel the added power more than a stock tuned car???
would the learn down in a gms1 car still adjust calibrations back to basically negate the added power of the dp??
just trying to be clear on this....my dp is in the mail and i have to consider what to do next! trying to keep gms1 for warranty issues ya know?!

he was talking about for ease of install/removal...and plugging it back in once new dp is installed with O2 sensor in it...just makes it easier than ******* with all of the wires and wrenches while under the car on your back i suppose....

you will feel added power more in the high-end more or less without a tune, technically you don't need another tune, but should anyways to get those codes blocked that you are predetermined to get. my advise would be to just keep the tune you have, but except the fact you may get a cel, but they also have 02 bung extenders that you can utilize. You will still feel the added power.

but, then you have to unbolt the o2 while the dp is out and it might be a bitch.. I just unbolted my o2 let it hang, unbolt dp, put on new dp bolt back o2. as for pulling out the wires.. possible, but not very
