Exhaust options for SS/TC

I have a 09 SS/TC with the GMS1 kit, K&N cold air intake kit, and a custom HPTuners tune. The car runs beautifully but it is too quiet compared to my 07 Mustang GT. I was at the Woodward Dream Cruise and at a friend's WWDC BBQ and heard several Neon SRT4's and a few SS/SC's with exhaust systems that sounded like Subaru WRX's at lower RPMs and were loud at WOT.

What are my options for getting a loud but non-fart can sound with my SS/TC? I'm in MI so they don't care about cats. I want 100% stainless steel, OEM-quality fitment/durability, and volume without any drone. Power gains are a secondary priority. I love the sound of V8s and my SS/TC is too quiet.

I'm not familiar with the different brands for Cobalt exhaust systems, so I'm seeking your experienced input. Thanks!

I just put on my Hahn catback last week, absolutely love the sound. One of the best notes I've heard, not just on a cobalt, but in general. Zero drone on the highway

I was between that and the turbo xs gt exhaust.

Do u have the issue with the rattle from the exhaust under the car? If so, the first set of hangers on the exhaust are touching, put a rubber spacer between them and no more rattle

Nah, it sticks out past the opening in the bumper a bit, I think it's because it's a sedan, no lip/different bumper.

I'm gonna cut a couple inches out of the tailpipe and weld if back together.

Doesn't do that on the coupe, just to close to the bumper , not centered in the cutout. Easy fix

I would do catless and muffler delete. Loud yet not really raspy.

From my take on the OP, you don't have a downpipe already, try that FIRST, get a ZZP/Turbo XS/Megan/Hahn (all examples) Catless 3" downpipe. The sound is GREAT!

Loud at cold start, tapering off the cat warm up to a near stock idle, near stock cruising then a huge increase in sound when in boost! Wasn't enough for me so I did a muffler delete on the stock catback and get compliments all day!
