Exhaust Questions

I'm tired of being silent but I don't want to void warranty. My car was REALLY screwed up by the previous owner, GM has pretty much completely rebuilt the engine and I'm kind of expecting some more problems to pop up, and I'm pretty sure there going to be transmission related as i dont know how a stock transmission held up to what the dealership said was done to the car. (3rd gear grinds occasionally and reverse does the same, but reverse is pretty common) So my questions are:

1) What are the chances the dealership will void warranty because of a full catted exhaust system? So far there has been over 6k in warranty work done to this car and theoretically the warranty was voided but GM still repaired it due to ownership change.

2)Will I lose a noticeable amount of torque installing an exhaust on the stock tune? Is there anything mechanically bad about not tuning it? Only reason I'm waiting for intake is because I can't tune it until february

3) What are the chances of throwing codes with a catted system? I want to get a cut off valve just to be a douche at times but won't that lead to a code gangbang?

4) Suggest me an exhaust. I'm probably going with Hahn simply because it is the most recommended and looks like a well built system. I don't want ridiculously loud during just normal driving, WOT **** yea I wanna be loud. Im VERY picky about exhaust and to be honest-I have no hope in ever LIKING the way the car sounds. As in picky I mean I've gone through 3 canisters and 2 headers for my atv. It sounds sexy though

As long as your under warranty, they should replace the trans. Exhaust has nothing to do with the transmission. You shouldn't throw a code with a catted DP, only with a catless without an angled O2 bung will typically throw a code. I would go go with MPx exhaust, only because Hahn is overpriced in my opinion.

Also you wont lose torque with the exhaust and it doesn't have to be tuned for.

Sweet, thanks ryro. Yea i figured it wouldnt affect warranty but who knows these days, they can find a reason my aftermarket exhaust ruined the trans lol.

Just checked out the turbo xs group buy, was pretty skiddish at first trying a new exhaust but the sound clip sounded good and it looks just like the hahn system. except i would be able to afford the full turboback system!

Think I'm going to go with the turbo xs exhaust and get the catted downpipe with it, it sounded badass but I've never heard a LNF with downpipe/exhaust in real life. Only thing I've heard was a LSJ with what sounded like muffler delete and catless down pipe, my god it sounded horrible, I really hope that it didnt have a nice exhaust lol. Decisions decisions.....

or maybe hahn exhaust and mpx downpipe, hahn exhaust isnt ridiculously over priced, the downpipe is however. I really don't see how there could be much of a difference between a $200 catted downpipe with an o2 bung and a $400 catted with o2 bung?

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how different the lsj and the lnf exhaust notes sound from one another ESPECIALLY if you're comparing what your car will sound like with the setup your looking at as compared to the sound of a catless lsj with a muffler delete.
