Finally bought a SS/TC

And wow! Love the car. Its a 2008 in sport red with LSD and sunroof. My previous car was a Scion TC which I turbo'd but the Cobalt feels like a more solid car and handles so much better. I hate how everyone trys to downgrade the interior of the cobalt because personally I like it and the seats are awesome and comfy. First mods I plan on doing is DP and Tune. Im probably going to go with Trifecta since all I read is good things about them. Hopefully I can find a local dealer to Long Island, NY. Ill try to get some pics this weekend.

Congrats on great buy. I love my 09 Cobalt SS. Black w/ red pin strip and red/black seats. I have Injen intake and Pressure Piping. Also all MPx DP and Cat-back exhaust. About to get Back Yard Turbo tune (BYT) this weekend. Should have 315-330whp. The car runs great with the mods I have now. Once again congrats, the cars are fun and fast

Congrats on the purchase!

I thought the interior was great at first too, but you will see.... The seats are great, the RPD is great if you have it and the sound system is fairly good but besides that it's all crap and looks/feels/rattles like it was assembled by blind monkeys.

RPD = loses appeal very quickly
sound system = garbage compared to even cheap after market
I agree with everything else

If I knew a shop here that can tune my car on their dyno I would go there, but I dont know any that have software to reflash the cobalt.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.

Are you serious? The stock system is pretty damn good for a Cobalt

Yeah I have no desire to upgrade the stock sound system.

I've thought about replacing the stock stereo itself with an aftermarket but the speakers themselves are pretty nice. I'm wanting a USB slot on mine.

Go trifecta. Vince doesn't need a dyno to tune your car to how you want it. And you don't need a local dealer either. Vince can send you his tuner or if you have a laptop his cable. Easy as pie.

Welcome and congrats on the purchase. I'm surprised you found one that was untuned. At WOT, what boost reading do you see?

When I tuned my car with Trifecta, the tires started breaking loose after 4,500 rev’s in 2nd. I now can either shift early or hear my tires go up in smoke all the way to redline.
