Still way too short for the LNF's powerband.

BTW - A Bone Stock LNF should run similar times to a S2 LSJ SS

Finally! I'll be at SEMA this week, so i'll try my best to get some good pics of it all for us here. A demonstration would be cool too.. but i doubt it'll be much of a runner.
Anyone else going to SEMA?

I agree with you there....VA sucks for driving!! The only state I ever been in that I can drive about 70mph and in a second go down to 5

A crappy 4spd auto most likely. If gm won't give us a 6spd manual. There's no way were getting anymore more then a 4spd auto.
The Sky Redline and Solstice GXP have a 5-speed automatic as an option.

I think that this is BADASS! I love turbos & superchargers! I can only imagine what stage kits GM might come up with...

Nice love how they boosted up the power. Wonder what the other sport compact cars will do now in their models to put up a fight towards Chevrolet.

And it'll so much easier to upgrade turbos IMO. I rather upgrade a turbo than a pulley. Plus you get that extra power for not having a S/C on the engine. I love turbos! Too bad this car will probably be up around $25K.

We probably won't see GM upgrades until the first ones start rolling off the car lots. 80% of time they'll make a couple hundred pre-order kits then when they see a huge interest then they'll start rolling out the stuff.

Even after a year on the market...I really wasn't impressed with what upgrades GM had to offer when I bought my car in 06.

I KNEW IT

Sounds like alot of worthy upgrades over the S/C SS. Just hope the rims are the ones in the spy pics we have seen.

thats a RWD transmsison. GM has moved on towards 6 speeds, even in FWD but one has yet to be fitted to a small car application--possibly won't fit.

Who will be the first 35r is the only question that matters...35r should yield 500 hp with minimal upgrades.

White sounds good. I think the Imperial Blue is the dark blue I've seen a few base model 07 Cobalts around town in. As far as interior, picture an 07 with those HHR SS seats. Can we get a better looking E-brake?? Wheels from the release pics are fugly. Stick to the original wheels or maybe a thinner five spoke. Brembos sound good, but why not all around (Wonder if the GMPP drilled rotors will fit)?? Hopefully the upper and lower air dam will have the diamond mesh insert as well (never understood why the horizontal lines in the front and the diamond mesh in the lower rear skirt)... I still want the 09 CTS-V, but I could definately trade in my 05 for one of these as the daily driver...

more small tid bit comparisons .

08 curb weight = 2975 , compared to the 2806 GM officially lists for the 2005 .

Steering ratio 2005-07= 16.63:1 compared to 08 @ 14.8:1

is the 14 compared to the 16 steering ration significantly faster? This no lift shift feature blows my mind. Is this something that has been on other cars that I have just never heard about?

Id love to see if new axles come out that will work with the S/C's too. I wonder how tapped out the motor is like if GM will really release any kits other then basic intake and exhaust. 0-60 sounds good though! Id love to run one stock with my stage 2.

I think "no lift shift" is another one of those features is going to be a big lure for people who probably shouldn't be driving fast cars resulting in rediculous insurance rates for everybody who buys one.

But this comes from the same guy who opted out of ABS.

normally I would say wheel hope wont be a problem as it's a turbo'd car and generally they don't have that problem.. however according to the data sheet it makes 260 ftlbs at 2000 RPMs ... thats more power then the LSJ soooo yea it might be an issue lol

Ah crap. i was hoping to get the ok from my contact at GM to go ahead and tell everybody the rumor of the turbo was fact. I have know for a long time it was coming.(not that you`ll believe that)
I also had a direct influence on white being available for the SS/TC aswell.(not that you`ll believe that either)
But I am glad its been finally announced to stop the insanity of rumors and speculation.
Can`t wait to get to drive one in the spring.
