well it really dpends on your needs. Personaly, the LSD is useful round the track/fast corners/high sped maneuvers, str8 line acceleration, etc. In normal conditions it is beneficial in the rain and even snow. Even tho it has summer tires, my car was real stable under snow/snowfall. Ive been thru 3-4 snow storms in it, last nov i even plowed thru the sno on purpose and car never missed a beat. Now performance-wise, these cars r FWD, sadly, there is inherit torque steer. Also traction issues. FWD configuration was 1st conceived as a cost-effective space saving design. Less drive train components=less production cost, no drive shaft=more interior room. Having the entire assembly up front helps in front end crashes as well. SO, fwd is really NOT/never was intended 4 high performance. It is an "acquired taste" It just became popular, and BLEW THE **** UP. These r economy cars, car companies make the sport editions to appeal 2 the public and boost the popularity, consequently the sales, so enough people buy the base models (just because they resemble the Sport model). Reason im telling u all this **** is to place emphasis on the Limited slip differential; u definitely need it man. I wonder why the hell they dont make it standard equipment, well I do; its cost. A fwd car with more than 200ft/lbs MUST have both wheels putting that power 2 the ground. FWD practicality defies physics and car dynamics. There's weight transfer/centrifugal force, Inertia/momentum, etc. My favorite, COMMON SENSE!

i was wishful thinking... i really wanted it... dam. i'm so tired of trying to find onna these things that's to my liking... this one looks good, it's black with white stripes... fully loaded but no lsd.. gizzay. not to mention it's a good price and i could get it for a good price... and searching for one wouldnt be so dam hard if the dealerships would look for me instead of telling me i'm waisting their time and that i can look on autotrader and find the same thing. i went the the chevy site and tried to search for them and i can't find anything use full. even when i do the car locator it only gives me the option of a 4 door and a coupe base model. :-/ i've only found two of these within an hour of my house one was black and a base model ss and this one i found just the other day...

torque steer isn't that big of a deal in these, the first one i drove had the lsd and nothing else extra not even a sunroof... it was surprising actually, wasn't bad at ALL. i drove a civic si a while ago with the lsd and the torque steer in that thing was scarey lolz. on an uneven road it was like OMG! DITCH! lol.

guh. i wanted to find one and buy it by my birthday. the 30th of this month, guess that's not gon happen.

u kno man, bottom line a competant car dealer will go lengths 4 a customer and his/her business. It shant be an issue 4 them 2 order/find u what u want. Just gotta walk in there, tell them what u want, can u help me?, yes? GOOD, heres my $, NO? ill find some1 that has a TRACE of work ethic/profesionalism. U jst gotta let em kno wuts up, dont gotta be a dick, just b firm, concise and precise. Ur not there 2 beg them 4 anything, or ask for any favors, ur a paying customer and IF they hav any professionalism, they will give u whatever u need/want. GOOD LUCK

lol i know this. what really pissed me off was knowing exactly what he was saying to me, i didn't tell him i work in sales and his performance was TERRIBLE!!! id out sale him without trying, i'd out sale him over the dam phone lol. what they think is, this punk little kid in here with no money, he didn't understand i could pay for it right then and there in cash if he would have "sold" it to me. Guy pissed me off so much i just left... i asked for his card and told him i wouldn't buy anything from him IF i came back and laughed.

now ive been to dealerships looking a way more pricey cars than that cobalt and the guys i've spoken with were amazing, really respectful, good sales people and knowledgable about their products. but, i'm in college, i don't want a car note. and i won't pay what they want me to pay either.

just frustraiting... tired of looking... i like these cobalts... but why do i gotta want sumthin that's so uncommon haha... jus my taste i guess.

i feel like i'm obsessing over this, but i can't help it, i want a new toy so bad and i'm so over playing the waiting game lol.

giggle* i just found a black one with black/grey interior with the LSD, spare tire, sunroof, the works... in Prattville AL like 3 hours away from me.... *giggle* *giggle*

i kno EXACTLY what u mean, ive had very similar experiences. And yeh, thats what 1 of d things i like most about this car a type of "blue-collar exclusivity" if there be such a thing. not as big a following/popularity in 06,when i 1st bought it. i dont like driving down the street and seeing 50 on my way home like the scions. When i run into another SS its actualy kinda cool, not anoying. "OH ****, theres another Tc, another 1, DAMN, that guy was 50!" Unofficial "poor-man's 'Vette", i dig it!
