Haven't been on since 2015. Thinking about coming back to the Cobalt SS world

Hey, guys. I owned an '09 Cobalt SS/tc from Dec 2010 until Sept 2015. I sold the car, but I do miss owning a Cobalt SS turbo. I'm contemplating owning another one.
My question is: how are these cars holding up now 10+ yrs later? The one I've been looking at is an '09 with ~80k miles on it.
This was my old Cobalt SS, fwiw. Maybe some of you from years ago will remember me based on the unique color? lol

I bought mine at 80k also and other than a clutch and a small issue I'm having now with the brakes the car has been great. I'm sitting at 125k now. It has taken me half way across the country and back about 10 times now. I have been very happy with how dependable this car has been.

It seems like if properly maintained and tuned these cars hold up well.

Welcome back!
Mine is like new after 9 years but I should add she was only dailied from 2010 to 2013 and has been a track queen since, 47K original miles.

I drove my '09 SS off the lot brand new and daily drove it for 11 years and 135k miles. I finally just had my first real issue with the car, the timing chain was loose but I caught it before it caused any issues. It seems to be a common issue at higher mileage, but it's not terrible or expensive to replace and intuitive to install.
I still love this car and have no plans to ever get rid of it.

Thanks for the input, guys. I'm still weighing my options, but for under $7k, I don't think there is another car worth checking out that can deliver similar performance while averaging 27+ mpg. I remember I regularly got 30+ mpg with my old Cobalt on my commute to work.

I've owned my car for 8 years with currently 129,XXX KM on the clock. It's the only car I've ever owned (I'm 28 years old now) and although one day I'll replace it. It's a firecracker of a car on a budget. My car is bolted and tuned and has suspension mods and other things done here and there. Had 55,XXX KM when I bought it. Car has been an absolute gem and hasn't needed too many major fixes. I've driven it year round, through rain and snow and sun. Biggest items that needed fixing were were probably:

- Misfiring issue on start, injectors replaced under warranty Year: 2011
- Both brembo calipers seizing to the rotors- had to be replaced Year: 2015
- Some issue with the steering rack clunking- replaced under extended warranty
- 1 Rear caliper seized to the rotor Year: 2015
- The car just seems to chew through pads and rotors... and I'm not very hard on them I don't think.
- CURRENT: Car being being taken to the dealership this week for malfunctioning ABS sensors. I'm thinking it's a wheel speed sensor or hub or something.
- Other than that- basic maintenance. Wear and tear items. Had some control arms replaced here and there. Going to be replacing brake fluid and trans fluid this week just in case.

I'm really surprised how much trouble you have had with rotors. Did they have rust issues or what exactly happened there?

I've had my car for 3 years. I've done almost everything to it, rear axle bushings, new control arms w/ spherical bushings, newish shocks and struts with YYZ springs, rotated trans mounts, engine swap to LHU, clutch/flywheel/tob, brakes, new brembo calipers (rear calipers replaced at 80k dealership), all 4 hubs, all 4 tpms sensors, shifter base bushings, shifter cable clamps, new OEM axles (2 years ago, I don't have a source for these), fuel line, ebrake cables, sway bar bushings, rear sway bar, basically got rid of all the wear components underneath and did some suspension upgrades. still running stock airbox but did charge pipes, intercooler, intake tube as well for reliability. fun, quick daily that I've been tossing around autocross then driving to work the next day.

Something like that

Was going to buy a 2016 Charger HC but then decided to buy a brand new house and build a pool. So HC money went into the pool/yard and rather than buy/drive a POS with no *****, why not spend less for more and get another balt!

I found a pretty mint coupe but if I happen upon a sedan before I close on the new house, I'll consider it as well.

Either way, I just want a decently low mileage LNF at this point.
