head light help

head light help

im trying to buy hids for my 09 ss/tc and im not exactly sure the bulb number that i need to get for my headlights and my fog lights

The headlights are a 9007.
Foglights are H11

Technically you should but then again I've been running HID's in both my headlights and foglights without it and they have been fine. I've had them for about a year and a half. Make sure you get rid of the daytime running lights though.

ill get the relay then its not that much more..how do i get rid of the day time running lights? and why would it matter?

Just pull the fuse in the fuse box under the hood. The DRLs run the low beams at half voltage, and they play havoc with the hids, because the hids cannot run correctly without full power. They will cause them to sometimes only light up one side, or not at all, cause flickering, and a multitude of other issues. It's easier to just remove the fuse and save the hassle. If you need DRLs due to where you live or something, just flick on the low beams whenever you get in the car, or put a piece of black electrical tape over the light sensor on the dash so your headlights always come on.
