Are the headlights and dash lights sensored??
Are the headlights and dash lights sensored??
I have noticed irregularities in how long the headlights will be on or off after i leave or enter the vehicle.Sometimes they go right off again and sometimes they stay on for a good while. The dash lights/instrumentation brightness seems to have a mind of its own.I don't like when it looks all dulled out,but i never know when it's going to be that way.I have had it at times suddenly go well lit and it makes me jump, lol.I have had this occurance happening even when it is pitch black outside.
I would just appreciate having a better understanding of how that all works,or do i have an issue, thanks.

From what I've noticed, the headlight and dashlights are both light sensitive. but sometime when the headlights are on, the dash lights wont be dimmed. It's funny sometime they are and sometimes they arn't. I think they either have their own sensor or the settings are different. idk
I wish I could turn the auto lights feature off.. Can you do that with HP tuners?
ALSO GET THIS! - Sometimes if I turn my radio up loud to a song with good base tones the map lights come on randomly and then dimm down?
WTF !

I just want it to be like normal ON & OFF by the switch only
So HP tuners doesn't have the parameters to keep them off untill I flip the switch ?
The auto lights are on it's own fuse ?

i can't see why the autolights wouldn't have it's own fuse, but i got no clue if pulling the fuse will actually help u or not, just a guess on my part. I will bet money HP tuners does not have the parameters to keep them off, Daytimerunninglights are a "safety feature" if u get into an accident and somehow they blame u for not having your lights on and that's how they didn't see u coming.........cmon, ppl in the USA trip off a curb and sue the city, if that can happen then this can happen.......
Sued for turning my lights off in the day LOL no way!!!! They aren't required in the 48 states
watch it happen right at sunset and u just forgot to turn the lights on, it's still light out but this person who hits u is a MORON, and shouldn't be driving but you'll never be able to prove this..........don't risk it man, if someone can sue the City for tripping of a curb then someone can sue u for not having your lights on..........if it CAN happen, it WILL happen, murphys law
so what 2 states require them?
BTW I have the DRLs on my s10 disabled. done by disabling the DRL relay output
In regards to auto headlight there is a way of fooling them into always thinks it is daytime, by using a certain ohm resistor in place of the sensor. BTW no I don't the the #ohm required. But you SHOULD be able to measure the sensor resistance on a sunny day to find out.
