I recently purchased a 2008 cobalt ss from new york and pennsylvania's inspection requirements are strict, they require the car to have working hi beams in order to pass inspection. The car only has hid lo beams wired right now and I was wondering if I could just buy a bi xenon bulb and wire it to the current ballast on the headlight?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Put the stock bulbs back in, get the inspection done and put your hid's back in.

 

x2 what he said or if u wanna spend money,find out what brand hid u have and buy the bulbs.Im not sure if the ballast`s are the same they mite not work if bixenon ballast boxes have xtra circuitry for hi/low beams

 

sounds like he purchased the car with the HIDs already in. get some stock bulbs and put them in. HIDs in a reflector housing will never pass inspection.
