the only way to make those sounds go away that i know of is to change ur head unit and use one of the cheaper wiring harnesses. those dings come thru ur drivers side front speaker

If it's really bothering you and it really is just for the shopping center then look under your seat, unless you have heated seats some how then the only electrical connection you see down there, unclip it and the beeping will stop. But wear your belt on the roads, save yourself some money, and maybe your life

My friend's door chime was super loud. He took it to the dealer to have some work done and they were able to quiet it down. I think there might be some sort of stock amp that they can adjust? I'm not sure though...

you can get a after market hu and a new GMOS-LaN-0x and adjust it that way.
i used to turn mine up real loud so my brother would buckle up.

i dont recomend disconecting the seat sensor, tells your car theres a person in the seat and to arm the air bag.

i have a gmos-lan-04 i believe and i turned it all the way down. no beeping from opening your door with the keys still in or with the headlights on, no "no seatbelt" sound (even tho i ALWAYS wear it), and my blinker sounds are also off as well.

It depends on the year. The 07+ with the newer GM LAN system use the HU for the chimes. The 05-06 I believe have their own module.

Disabling the seatbelt chime is easy. I just cut the wire on mine in the G5 and spliced in a switch. That way I could disable the chimes, but easily switch them back on for inspection.

Before shitstorm: I use my seatbelt religiously, I had it on when I flipped the G5. I just disabled the chimes since I usually take my time doing other things between the time I turn my car on and when I actually put on the belt and drive. The G5 had a tendancy of just continously tripping the chime, the Cobalt usually shuts up pretty quick.

Ive seen this happen to people..... one i particular I remember was a drunk lady in a late 80's BMW... she hit a telephone pole and smashed her head on the windshield just like this.....pulled her forehead off in a big flap.....

not worth it man....

Or this one...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6kh4X...layer_embedded

If you watch him at the end when hes tossed into the back, watch his head drag through the back window along the asphault.

And yes that video is very real. I used to work for an ambulance company that had "Drive Cams" in them....they run on 12 sec loops....so basically they are constantly taping, but only record data when the G sensors are triggered by a sudden change in motion (ie heavy acceleration/decceleration, excessively hard turn) crash, or hard bump. Once triggered, because it runs on a loop, it records 10 secs before the triggering event (so you can see what happened), then the event, then 10 seconds after the event so you can see the outcome.

A number of places don't even pay attention to it, but every so often, you'll come across one of the Schutzstaffel techs that will fail you for having a parking pass on the mirror or a Radar Detector attached to the windshield. These are also the same types that'll bitch about tail light covers.

For anyone interested, there is a plug on the bottom of the seat. Just unplug it.

Before some of you give me a lecture about how unsafe it is to drive without a seatbelt, the only reason I disabled the alarm is because it is already an instinct for me and I don't need an annoying reminder going off every time I turn on my car.

Get ur head unit reprogrammed. When i replaced my head unit under warranty the turn signal, door, key and seat belt chime was louder. Along the stereo itself...
