How are the high mileage SS/TC's holding up

Yep, Royce is correct. NLS 2-3 after doing it a few miles back with no issues and this time injector 4 stuck open and tach went past 6300 and then started misfiring bad running in the 9-10 AFR range and didn't sound healthy at all. Diesel truck. Pulled Cyl 4 plug and found oil and then started pouring fuel (fuel rail was still pressurized I guess and was draining into the cyl). So I let it sit overnight with plugs out and then towed it home. Compression tested fine but it's had blowby for quite a while now, powell separator won't drainback. Dipstick has a bit of pressure coming out and that's causing it to not drain. So LDK swap it is. Keeping the current clutch cause it's only got ~10k on it. New flywheel & PP bolts and trans fluid since I'm going through all the effort. And some new O2 housing gaskets. It'll be done quick. Need the garage space for other things.

Im around 104,000 miles in my tc sedan. Cars feels the same as it did at 80k miles. Original motor, clutch, turbo. Tuned on 24 psi since 50kish miles. I need to change the brake fluid next time I do a brake job. I remember the rear calipers 2 years back felt like they were difficult to compress on the passenger side. Major clunking still over light bumps in the road. I knew my CABs were done long ago but not enough interest to replace. The BPV is sounding a little silly lately but still holding 24 psi at WOT. Changed the filter with a clean K&N cone. The fuel trims slightly wild but not exceeding the limits. (+2.3 to +6.0 LTFT).
My car needs a real good cleaning. The K&N intake heat shield is rusting, the black coating is coming off at a spot that clearly collects water during hard rainstorms. Theres a nail in my rear passenger Dunlop Direzza Z2 tire but the life of the tires are pretty much done so not worried. This was their last season. Back on DWS tires till I can replace the summer tires next year.

I'll pass 162k tomorrow on the drive to work. Currently sitting at 161,99x miles. Oil change coming today.
I need to get an alignment when I get new tires in the next month or two. Trying to decide whether to get all-seasons or a set of dedicated winters.

That's true. I do a lot of miles so it is best to be safe during my commute. I just don't think it'll snow that much where I'm at, so an all-season may get the job done. It was 80 degrees Fahrenheit today!

117,000 miles and she still holding strong. Have literally replaced everything else on the damn car besides the engine and turbo (knock on wood). No longer my daily anymore so no more 18k a year. My daily 01 nissan maxima actually has some decent high mileage and starts everyday and don't leak anything, 273,000 miles on that old girl.

167500. Replaced trans at 110K, not out of need but to put a 4.45 F35 in. Then put in an all forged/built LDK in at 135k due to no compression in 2 cylinders. Broke ring lands and they stayed help perfectly in place like a puzzle piece by the rings. Both rocker panels need replaced. Waiting for warmer weather. Going to try myself, though I cant find anywhere where anyone has done a Cobalt online anywhere to follow along.

I mean when these cars are selling for 6-8k avg yea, 12k is significantly higher than the average. then again, the car is cleaner than all of the 6-8k cars. i don't know anyone looking for a clean cobalt. Luis's car was the last "clean" cobalt I saw sell and it was in rolling shell form so i dont know if it even counts.

you're not wrong. but most people don't look into that nor get far enough into research to see their ghetto catch can and intake do nothing. so the majority of the crowd picking these cars up in this day and age are noobs (not gonna lie that was me). but it's a good learning experience. you're looking for a certain buyer in a market of cheap asses unfortunately. Only few people know how clean it is and how it is absolutely worth the money. Though time adds wear too, coolant, brake fluid probably should be changed.

2009 Cobalt SS/TC, 141,000 Miles on it. Just bought new FE5 suspension because the originals were worn out, had to get new rear calipers as well because the rears were seizing, I could probably use my intake valves getting cleaned. Been running a CAI from K&N and Straight Pipe since I bought it at 26k and within the last 10k miles I've added a ZZP Intercooler, ZZP Lower Charge Pipe, HPT Tune at 24psi and GMS1 sensors, also just bought ZZP Lowering Springs to get rid of the awful wheel gap. It's been a strong car, I definitely haven't been gentle on her and I'm sure with the tune and power it's making now more problems will start to show. The only problem turbo wise currently is a Vacuum leak I have to track down. I do love it, and I don't see myself getting rid of it.
