How rare is my car?
Now is it just the gloss black, or Black Granite Metallic? Black Granite was only on the 2010. Just like Crystal Red, which is different than sport red. My SS is Crystal and I have a cousin whose cobalt is sport red, and the colour is different.
There are no Black Granite SS's
IMO I think the SS/TC is a rare car in itself, I see less of them on the road than Camaro SS's or even
Z06's.Just about the only time I see them are at planed meets. Will it be a collector car is yet to be seen, and brings up argument on this site each time someone asks. People say it's a 4 cyl econo car, but back in the 80's people said the Grand National won't be a collector car because it's a 6cyl car. All I can say, is that I'm old enough to have heard regrets from folks that turned Chevelle SS's into dirt track cars because they didn't think it would be a collector car. I sold my 69 SS in 1993 for $8800, and it resurfaced a couple of years ago, and the asking price was $30k. The kicker was that it was in much worse condition than when I owned it.

Our cars are rare in general, but the WHITE is the rarest color to get in the 2008-10 TC's.
But black, which is what i have, is probably one of 2500, with lsd, probably 1 of 1000. In my opinion, should have been a standard option on our cars, especially with all the torque it has.
A white one with LSD is probably the rarest of them all

Yes there are. I was gonna buy it in Black Granite until I saw it in person. The pamphlet made them look more like a metallic gray color which looked really good. I think it was like a $175 option and Crystal Red was an extra $325. I then had it narrowed down to either Crystal Red or Summit White.
Are only SS models in white rare? I have a white 2dr LT wingless (came that way from the factory) and I have never seen another 2dr wingless (factory stock) that wasnt black or the greyish color

Mine is an 09 black... sure, not rare when you compare it to the other SSs. In the small market here in Panama City Fl, there are about 3-4 SSs, but mine is the only TC on the road. I've driven all over the country and I think i've only seen 5 or 6 TCs that aren't on a lot. In fact, getting mine at all was near impossible at the time and I had to actually order one made for me.
not sure about 2010, but according to gmtunersource.com, the top three rarest ss/tc's are yellow sedan (3.2%), olympic white coupe (5.7%), and yellow coupe (5.8%). There's a link to it, but for some reason it doesn't pull up when I click on it, so you guys can check it out on my car forum: Cobalt SS T/C Production Numbers - GM Tuners of Houston
RPO searches;
but Compnine never seemed to load up the 2010 model year info, then they diasabled people like me from using it...

I had started compiling interior versus exterior numbers for a subsequent thread... but then compnine seemed to crap the proverbial bed...
(which means that to date that info is only partially compiled)
for Canada, all 2010 SS's were "fully loaded" as per the available options at the end of the 2009 model year;
The 2010 USA destined cars (w/o RPO: Z49) had one actual option available: G85 (limited slip);
the other "options like sport pedals were GM accessories, and although available for both 2009 & 2010 as a factory ordered item, they were shipped to the receiving dealer, and installed by a technician prior to delivery;
I guess it comes down to your interpretation of "option", but in my book it has to be factory installed to be an option...

Yes there were.
There's a member here who was at my house last week with his Black Granite SS;
I read a couple posts back of this being a Canada nly deal, but I've never heard of this previously, and unless I was given some printed literature to back it up I'll call BS.
I am pretty certain that the GM ordering page showed it as being a "new" option for 2010 Cobalt SS's.
if you care to clue me in on how you're going about doing this, maybe you can clue me in so I can compile another thread like THIS!?
