How rare is my car?
Why did they make the RPD without a Vacuum gauge? A vacuum gauge is pretty damn important to a turbo car that can develop vacuum leaks . Plus a vacuum gauge can tell u a lot about how an engine is running or the condition it's in .
IMHO it a big FAIL on GM's part ...... I wanted an RPD until i found this out .

Frankly, I'm guessing something in the eleventh hour screwed up ~ becasue on the settings screeens, the boost gauge has vacuum... only on the actual "Boost" gauge does it not show vacuum...
Almost like it wasn't coded correctly, and not noticed until it was too late to put out for production (keeping in mind that 2009 was supposed to be the final year of the Cobalt)
if that's directed at the SS/TC, then I respectfully will disagree
(and last time I checked, this was a right we're all given)
I hear time and again of musclecars that were produced in the 7-10,000 range as being rare... so in my mind's eye, these are...
just look at how many (here) have been written off already...
I'd wager than in ten years there's almost none left... and maybe only one or two left stock.
I wouldn't consider it rare... less made than base models, but still there were over twelve thousand made....
let put it this was;
combing the three years that the SS/2.4 was made;
2006: 21,688 coupe & 9,068 sedan = 30,756
2007: 12,469 coupe & 3,397 sedan = 15,866
2008(renamed 'sport'): 6,259 coupe & 4,427 sedan = 10,686
---------
57,308
That's roughly a 10:1 ratio of SS/TC's ~ assuming GM's projected numbers (5~6,000) materialized as the final total over all three years...

anyway, do you know the production #'s of all the years boosted SS's too?
it seems to me that at least half of the SS/TC's that came here are already wrecked... and with only aprox 5-6k built to begin with... there ain't going to be many left pretty freaking quick here...
I have a video introducing the 2008 SS/TC and in it, the number of 5-6,000 is thrown out there...
with only;
1,766 in 2008
3,040 in 2009
that would leave roughly 1,200 for 2010 model year coupe to hit the 6,000 number...
??
I don't know about any of you, but I saw less 2010's than 2009's in the show room's...
This is of course making the leap of faith that the 6k umber is applied to strictly coupes...
but if the 2009 sedans are included in the 6k, then that would probably blow the 6k number out of the water...
I just talked to compnine and was told that they have been focusing on older model years, and probably have very little if any 2010 cobalts in their system...
I for one would love to see the total numbers released... heck, if GM would grant me access, I'd compile the numbers myself ~ including any further breakdowns that people wanted...
but odds are that just ain't going to happen.
