I think I bought my son a car that's faster than mine. Lol!!!

Well I bought my son a 97 mitsubshi eclipse gst turbo with the following mods
4g63t engine
Spec stage 3 clutch
Aluminum fly wheel
Short throw shifter
16g turbo
Port and polished head
Beehive springs and retainers
Bigger cam
Apr head studs
Front mount intercoller
Greddy blow off valve
3 inch turbo back exhaust
Racing plugs and wires
My mods are

K and n typhoon cold air intake
Forge bpv
Trifecta stealth tune
And lowered on zzp springs
Lol. I'm not real sure my car is faster than his. He's only 17 and I'm not letting him race me until he spends some more time behind the wheel of this car but who do yall think would win?

He will definitely get you. GSX with similar mods ran 11.95 at 113 mph

gsx is awd gst i believe is still front wheel drive.
i doubt a gst with those mods runs that time.

anyways, i wouldnt go right ahead and say he will take you. i think it will be a close race depending on the tune you guys are on..

True. But even if the son does spin he could still run him down. Or just get some radials

If dad wants to win then he will get radials for the cobalt and not the son

That's a pretty close match up there. Honestly I think it's a drivers race.... and man I hope to GOD you can out drive your 17yo son!

Here's an idea, get one of your buddies to do a few runs against you in the balt and see what happens..

wow that thing is terrible looking. def put the stock body kit back on and paint it one color. imo its super riced out. and in respect to the race i used to have a talon with similar mods makin jus over 350whp and it was faster than a lnf with an intake and tune.

but in the end it always comes down to the driver, some people never learn how to launch a car properly, he may miss a gear and he is young as well dont let him do anything stupid im sure he rolls around in the eclipse like hes the coolest dude in hs im only 21 and im still young but i kno how stupid i was in hs, im fortunate i kept myself safe. and thats very nice of you to buy him a car make sure he appreciates it and takes care of it like he bought it

in all seriousness. i really wanted a 1g awd dsm as a project car for the LONGEST time.

that car is very 'ricey' and he will be mocked endlessly if he posts it anywhere on the internet. but if he likes it, what other people think shouldn't matter.

Ya he does like it. He thinks he's got a car like on the fast and furious movies. Lol he's just always wanted a car with a turbo and bov and now he's got one. I just hope it's a good dependable car for him
