Incentives and finance rates
Incentives and finance rates
So, As of June 3rd, the Chevy incentives hotline (1-800-962-2868)told me one thing and according to the dealer, who claims they made phone calls and printed out the incentives and GMAC financing that applies to my new Turbo, it is 5.9% for 60 months. The Chevy incentives hotline told me that the SS Turbo falls under the standard Cobalt 0% for 60 months or 2,000.00 incentive. The dealer says NO!!! So everybody that goes in to deal on incoming Turbos, post your incentives and GMAC financing if applied so that we who are being denied can go back and hold the dealers accountable.
When I look up my VIN in the incentive system it only gives the $1000 or 5.9, its the same system the dealers use so that whats they see in my area. When I look up the specific incentive program that states the alternate APRs (the 0%s) it says specifically "Cobalt (excl. Sport/SS Turbo)" and "Cobalt Sport". Thus why I would be weary of any person that says it works for the turbo since the system clearly states it isn't. I've heard stories of people getting certain incentives through the dealer that later get recinded since the dealer was in error. Although I think a lot of times if the dealer gives a deal they arn't authorized for, either they or GM takes the hit for the mistake since it was their error and not the customers.
Anyone hear back and get the 0% for 60M taken back? We are still in the clear
We have not had a GMAC letter/bill come, but curious if anyone had any trouble with this, as it has been a week now.

In the Northeast, the rebate is only $1,000.
I was gonna check out some of the new SS/T's that are now in area dealerships, but I canceled my appointments with the sales people when they confirmed that the turbo was not part of the $2,000 Rebate.

Question here for the most part is did anyone get the 0% for 60 Months from GMAC on a SS/TC and then get contacted later stating it was no good?
It has been a week now and it is still in those "terms" (we did get the 0% and 60M) However we did notice the GM website now states the SS/TC has 5.9% for 60M for our region...

I have a pricing sheet in front of me that gives me 0%. Another dealership down the street told me the SS/TC does not get the 0%. I'm tempted to pull the trigger on it but I really don't want to get screwed over.
Once you sign the papers for 0% they will not renig. If they try just tell them that's fine give you your trade back and you will be on your way contract null and void have a nice day.
Considering I put on average 300 miles a week I doubt they would take that.

once you sign the papers there is not much they can do. It is a done deal. If not, it should work both ways. I don't like the terms they gave so lets redo the deal...NOT gonna happen. you guys got a good deal for the 0%.
That guy didn't actually sign the deal though. The dealer realized they screwed up and took it away before signing. That very well may happen to me, and I plan on playing dumb if it does. I'm really good at playing dumb.
I've got my monthly payments down to where I want them. I'm really apprehensive about haggling down the sticker price if I'm going to get 0%. I'm already taking huge advantage of their screw up with the 0%.

If a salesman mis-spoke about a deal / promotion to a customer we have to give it to the customer, then be beaten in the back

That's why im shocked that TTR got it? Unless they payed over sticker and the dealer was making money.
If anyone wants a 08 SS/TC Black, Red or Silver avail. in the Northern NJ area PM ME
I'm not so sure, but my dealer told me the car would get 0% for 60 months. He didn't look up any paperwork on it, but he told me I would get that if I bought. I guess only time will tell.
I just got an email from my dealer saying that GM did not accept my financing and they are supposed to send me a letter in the mail. Hmmm... I bought the car on the 3rd and today is the 10th. It took them 7 days to do anything. Im gonna call my dealer and GM finance tomorrow. Especially since i have a binding contract. If i tried to do something like this at the bank I would get fired. Im also gonna talk to my lawyer. If i dont get it one way, ill get it another!!!!

You signed the papers, took delivery of the car.. and now 7 days later they are telling you you were denied? How is that even possible..?
I would rather not have the car than try to fight GM and the dealer about an interest rate after buying the car. It's not the greatest time for me to buy a car with a new job that is a bit shaky still. I just wanted to jump on the 0% mistake that a dealer is making. I'm planning on calling the dealer and bringing this up to them and see what they do. It will give me some leverage at the least to try to guilt them in giving me a killer deal.
