Check your contract MOST Dealers put a clause in that states, if anything is wrong with the contract you WILL come back and re-sign a new one.

If not GM won't help you , your only choice is going after the Dealer.

yup, shady car dealers are notorious for giving one rate and then a few days later saying it didn't go through and trying to get you into a high % loan

Don't get your hopes up, see if you can get the $1k and what the 5.9% finance charge will be on your final price and have them deduct that from the price
I mean since they lead you to believe that, tell them you can get the car anywhere else and will if need be. Then dont speak!!!!! Next person who talks in that negotiation looses.

0% is NOT available on the 08 Cobalt SS. I know this for a FACT.

The dealers are idiots and don't read the fine print. They figure a Cobalt is a Cobalt...

Still, I really wish I could get 0% financing...

Actually that's not true , I have seen the memo that was given to dealers.

It was a mistake by GM anyone could have thought it, it did not specify excluding the SS turbo. I then saw the revised copy sent and it stated only 5.9% avail.

Do you still have a copy of it? Thats what the website showed the morning of the 3rd. There was no separation.

Our dealer just called us and stated the cobalt SS/TC was not included BUT:

They are giving us one REALLY good deal!

MSRP $24,535

Their price $22,324.48

Plus the $1,000 rebate, Plus our GM card points $800!

So we got the SS/TC for about $20,500 before T/T/L

Then they found a 60 month rate loan for 4.9%

Payment ends up being the exact same.... I am very happy with our dealer, standing up and taking the loss themselves and not putting it back on the customer.

I hope others that had this same thing come up, that their dealers act the same way ours is.

I talked to my dealer about it, and he said that it was a mistake (as most know already), and that dealers who did give it out would have to pay GM back. So its up to the dealers if they wanna be cool and take the loss, or try to screw over the customer.

My guy at the dealer told me to wait till July 4th, he thinks the 0% will be back or at least a good bonus cash offering. They did the same thing with the HHR SS, 0% excluded......a month later 0% available.

That sounds like a possibility, A Salesman I talked to at a dealership here told me that I could do 0% but I knew that I couldnt. I hope they offer 0% in july that would be sweet.

I don't see where they lost out. They still got you financing and will get a kick-back from the financing company for it.

with the incentives you can probably still get ~4.8% financing if you have good credit so the end effect may not be too much different

Because they gave us over $2000 off MSRP, their invoice is higher than that (what their cost was on the car)

You can do MUCH better than the 5.9% AND get $1000.

I mean what sounds better:

5.9% and $0 incentive through GMAC

or

4.95% and $1000 through *insert lending institution here*

Invoice on a car isn't always what a dealer pays. It depends on the size of the dealership (aka how many cars they buy from GM).

Intakes are coming along well in the design, we will have more info in a couple weeks.

Update on the incentives:

Sounds like GM is stepping up and offering to those who already purchase the 0% for 60M for the SS/TC in the USA. The dealer just contacted us and will have more in about an hour

So anyone who purchase BEFORE the revised incentive sheet should be able to keep their 0% for 60M.

We will confirm what we find out soon.
