Insurance?
Sorry if this is a repost or been answered previosly but has anyone heard, in general, what the insurance will be on these things? I talked to a guy from the local dealership (yeah, yeah, I know) and he said that the dealers aren't sure how many they will be able to move because they are afraid the insurance will be through the roof. Something about power to weight ratios.

age, location, driving history, and type of vehicle are all factors in insurance. i am under 25 yrs old, i live in a high risk area, ss/tc is considered a performance vehicle, but i have a pretty good driving history. i expect to pay high insurance because of these factors, new york city is notorious for high insurance rates so im not surprised with anything they tell me
i just called my insurance company with my newly aquired VIN number for my ss/tc and i was pleasantly surprised. i was paying $1800 every 6 months for my 07 SS 2.4L cobalt (i opt for extensive coverage for all injury variants). they quoted me for $1100 every 6 months with the same figures for injury coverage!! the insurance guy said even though it has more horsepower the improved braking and handling makes the insurance much cheaper than the previous model. hooray for me

I got a quote from Progressive. 21 with perfect record, drive about 15k miles a year... came to 130 a month with almost full coverage. Thanks god for the new MA insurance laws that allow competition between companies... Now just need the car to come in...

friggin americans...$3k less to buy the car...$0.40 less per litre to fill it...and cheap insurance.
I'm 26, clean record, no accidents, but use my 01 Z24 for business, and pay $230 per month. Got my insurance agent to quote me, and it I'm looking at $240/mth on an 08 SS/TC. The odd thing though, I asked him what the difference between the SS/TC and the sport model would be and he said that there would be no difference. And yes, before you ask, I had him confirm that he quoted the SS trim.
Yay, insurance!

My SS 2.4 Is about $40 a month for full coverage through progressive (240 paid every 6 months). It also keeps dropping each time I renew.
Why is everyone else paying so much? I am 25 btw with a good driving record.

i know for example: new york city has a huge population w/ a lot of pedestrians, distractions and other vehicles on the road. that makes me 100x more likely to hit something or get hit by something than somebody in a lightly populated area. well, thats the way it has been explained to me at least.

Plus i have a terrible record, no accidents though, just insane speeding tickets.
300 bucks a month for a 9-3 high output (as the insurance puts it). The guy at allstate said it might drop since its been a year since my last ticket and the TC has a lot better brakes

My boyfriend and I pay $175 full coverage on a 2006 SS/SC and and 04 WRX. Both of us have one speeding ticket and no wrecks. And we're 25 and 27. It isn't that bad but it isn't that good.

Cool-thanks for sharing what you all have heard. I have a '06 SS sedan and we're paying $52/month on it for full coverage. I was just curious if I should expect that to skyrocket if I got new SS/TC. It looks like I should be safe.
