intake valve pics 47K ....seafoamed every4-5K

Well.... finally got around to pulling off my intake and was very happy with the results ..... 47K miles ...seafoam every 4-5K since new . I cant get the other 2 cyl pics to transfer but they looked the same ..... a very light coat of gray carbon on the botton of the valve and a little build up in the middle of the stem. You can still see shinny metal at the tops of and in other parts of the stem . Car was seafomed 2K miles ago . Mobil 1 every 5K 93oc always. Ill work on the other 2 pics . Ohh... forgot trifecta 24psi for the last 40K ..... superchips for the 4K before this ....mods in sig.

I never had mine off my LSJ but it looks like quite a job ! I had my blower off in like 10 minutes but the rest of it looks intimidating hehe. At least the LSJ's have gas to clean off most of the gunk i would imagine .

That looks pretty good! I wish the pictures were a little more in focus and were zoomed in a bit more around the seat area.

Thanks Rukkee

I gotta say, rukkee, that yours is BY FAR the cleanest head pic I've seen. Your runners are spotless compared to most of the pics I've seen. I've only done a couple of the Seafoam treatments, but I guess I'll step it up a little.

Do we absolutely need to change the oil and spark plugs after a seafoam treatment via the intake manifold? I've heard that we needed to disconnect the catalytic converter as well which is insane since platinum is supposed to be self-cleaning, which got me thinking that new plugs probably aren't required.

How much seafoam do we need to use every 4k-5k miles? The whole can?

I have a second set of spark plugs to use when I Seafoam (original plugs that I pulled out.) I haven't seen any kind of buildup on them, but I've only done 2 Seafoam cleans. I do it before the oil change, but Seafoam says on the can that an oil change isn't required.

How did the spark plugs look after the seafoam treatment? I don't think the factory platinum/iridium plugs would foul that easily, but I just wanted to check.

I use a whole can..... i use half threw the intake and half in the gas tank for the injectors .

The 4th time i seafoamed my car I changed the plugs . (it wasnt cause the old ones looked bad) because people were always saying you needed to .......it hasnt hurt plugs , and I've seafoamed my car around 10 times .

When I seafomed mine I didnt change the spark plugs and had no issues. 1/3 in the gas tank, 1/3 in the oil and 1/3 in the intake. Thats how I did it. drove for about 100 miles then did an oil change

Nice man!!

I checked my intake valves when I installed my dual pass last winter.

They were spotless as well.

Although, I never use seafoam. Just 93 & race gas from time to time
