Intercepter + Wideband?

So, i have a ZZP pillar comming and would like to get a wideband going with it but i am a little confused. I know you can hook up a wideband to the intercepter for a readout but what does this consist of? me jsut ordering a sensor and jsut wiring it to the gauge VIA signal wire?

Also open for vendors to post/PM me for the best deal!

Ottp

Get the autometer... aem wont fit and Autometer is much better quality, i found this out the hard way

mkulrey13 04-30-2009 08:29 PM

I dont want a wideband gauge, i want to be able to use the wideband feature on the intercepter.

Cefaln452 04-30-2009 08:30 PM

dont think you can

BLAZIN07SS 04-30-2009 08:32 PM

the interceptor gauge for the SS/TC's read wideband through the OBDII. nothing else needed. the car has 2 widebands stock

true widebands? or jsut reading from teh 02 sensors..? also if i order th 2.2 ones they work for the LNF?

the vehicle has wideband sensors stock

mkulrey13 04-30-2009 08:36 PM

so if i installed a bung and the AEM wideband i'd get the same readings...? gm is not this smart..no way  so will the 2.2 intercepters work for the LNF?

Pancakes FTW!!!!!

nikebaseballx00 04-30-2009 08:37 PM

sorry to thread jack....... but could i make a wideband work with an interceptor on a 2.2?

yes, the CN type

You can wire a interceptor to read afr, you use a wideband o2 sensor to one of the interceper annolog signal wires. how you do it i dont know, but i know thts how its done.

However i dont think its easy to read, i find it hard to read anything that changes on the intercepter rapdly. such as rpm or pulse width. i dont know if thats just me, i have the aem wideband and i love it

uhhh...im not sure what you are talking about. in this case its cheaper since the SS/TC has widebands stock, it just needs a gauge to display it.

You do know that you can select the speed that the gauge changes it values, right? I believe it is 6 different speeds

oh shit, yeah i wasn't looking at your whip.. tc has em built in.. sc does not my b

SRTrent 04-30-2009 09:41 PM

what are you guys talking about the Cobalt SS/TC has "widebands" stock? the only one that can read AFR's is the 09 because it has that big ass gauge that reads a few things. but this is what you should do. if you have an aftermarket downpipe then it should have 2 bungs in it (one for the 02 sensor and one for a wideband(just in case you get one)) or you could ask them to weld in a bung for you. buy an AEM wideband and put the sensor that comes with the AEM wideband into the 2nd bung. then buy an aeroforce scangauge so you can monitor knock and timing. explain better to me how the SS/TC's have two "widebands" stock...

mexi_loco 04-30-2009 09:45 PM

my friend has an interceptor or two in his t/c. he basically has it hooked up in the same place where you would hook up a tech2 or an HPT cable (not sure what that thing is called). But if i understand correctly, there should be like a guage you can get at the dealership called an RPD that'll read your AFR's and boost and some other stuff without needing to buy all the other guages. It just goes in place of your stock boost guage. Only reason why I know about it is cuz i plan on getting it as soon as I can get funds for a new t/c.

most manufacturers are actually starting to move towards wideband o2 sensors to improve efficiency so they can see A/F more clearly. the SS/TC uses 2 wideband sensors for the vehicle itself. now if they didnt get the RPD(performance display that shows A/F) they can get another gauge that will display it, reading right off of the OBDII

SRTrent 04-30-2009 09:49 PM

the scangauge works with the OBDII right? so would it read AFR's from that?

yep :twothumbs aeroforce or dash hawk both work as i have seen on here

NWAE Cobalt 04-30-2009 09:56 PM

so if i were to find a tc for parts and snag an o2 sensor i could hook this up with a wideband gauge in my ls and it would work as a wideband sensor that way???

is it really worth all the trouble? buy an AEM, you can find them cheap

SRTrent 04-30-2009 10:06 PM

so where are the two wideband sensors at in the SS/TC's? gotta be in the exhaust somewhere right? and does the computer give you a reading of what your AFR's are?

not cheap enough
if only there were tc's in local junk yards...the sensor would be $free.50 cheap
