Introduction.

Hi everyone. I've been lurking for a while and I had a few questions. Before I post them I will do a search however. I recently purchased a 2010 SS. Overall I'm pretty happy with it (except for an annoying mirror rattle). This is my first COMPLETELY Chevy car. If you want feel free to look through my photobucket for pics of some of my cars that I've had/worked on. Pictures by dawgz83948 - Photobucket

Look forward to getting to know the car and you guys better.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I already got hosed by Chevy on the powertrain warranty.......

So I currently have a f35 with a hole in the casing and 3rd gear completely gone on a tranny that had 2,000miles on it(although all other gears work and drive). I already had a Chevy authorised company replace the transmission as well as install a new stock clutch. Just very disappointed in the "service" I recieved.

So, does anyone know what a gear that appears to be improperly hardened look like? I do. I've never seen a hardened gear do this, nice to know that manfacturing defects are still around, and that manufacturers are still not taking responsibility for their own garbage.

The gear on the right is consistant with a hardened gear failure. The gear on the left appears soft.

Hey guys. Wierd issue, did a search and didn't find anything. Is it normal for the turbo to make a ticking sound when under boost. So this is what's happening, on first start after a few hours car runs normally. I drive nicely until engine is 180*+. On first request for boost there is a rapid ticking sound from the turbo area (15lbs of boost), however if I release the gaspedal to drop boost then reapply throttle the boost (15 psi again) it comes in silently and works silently from that point on. Is this normal?
