K&N = MAF gumming up?

Exactly, the flow advantage is quite minimal. Not worth it, IMO.

I've been using the k&n for about 12,000 miles. even after cleaning I've not had any problems. Just don't over oil it, and wait until it is fully dry before you apply the oil.

but how many miles till that happened, how often u clean it or change it

Just wait until a few thousand miles when those that have been running k&n in the dusty climates....I see alot of cars needing seafoamed early in life to clean dirty intake valves. Unlike regular fuel injection, DI doesnt have the added cleaning to the upper intake by gasoline, or fuel additives. So using filters known to be extremely poor in filtration, on DI setup just doesnt make sense to me. I guess if you do not mind getting your intake valves cleaned its not so much an issue.
