yah. There's like a 8% chance it wont work for you like it didnt for some of the people on here and I think im starting to understand that.

I think Humidity plays a huge role in the fuel trims, lol. Its been really humid lately and the rotation of my filter that use to give me a -2.5 to -3.6 LTFT now gives me between -7.0 and -9.6 LTFT. The only difference is that it really really hott and humid out since march.

But yeah, the intake will work on a stock car. just gotta set the filter "rotation" to the right place and you shouldnt see a CEL ever..

Confirmed.

Humidity does play a huge part in how your trims are. This Yesterday was pretty humid and and it carried over into today, however humidity dropped signicantly by this afternoon. My LTFTs are back to -3.9% Which is awesome and im happy and can stop being a hypocondriac, lol.

yea, everyone says K&N is good on a stock untuned LNF. I have GMS1 tune and K&N SRI and LTFT is around +3 occasionally jumping to about +5 with a lot of WOT and down to +2 with more "normal" driving . that's with the thick part towards the bottom. runs great and sounds even better and I do feel slightly more punch but it could just be all in my head lol. getting dyno'ed soon, hopefully!

i rotated my to just right of 12:00 and the RPD was showing it as a full point rich now... i guess thats good seeing as i havent reset the trims yet... car feels much more responsive and less excessive spool now that it has fuel lol

Isnt that wierd? Rotating the filter actually tunes it? lol.

While it might not cause any issues, you still wont see any power gains until you get a tune.

I can't have mine like this, it rubs against my hood liner.

What you'll need to do then is try rotating it to one side and rotating it to the other side and see what your fuel trims do. Perhaps that hood liner will change the airflow enough for you to be able to have the filter rotated and still have good fuel trims. If you've rotated it and still don't have good trims, find the best rotation spot and then start talking to your tuner about it.

hoping to confirm that with the dyno! I'm also getting a Turbo XS catback and putting it on with the GMS1 tune. will probably dyno before and after and post on here since it'll probably be useful for others who also don't want a custom tune. hopefully I won't be disappointed lol.. I'll be happy with anything above 5 whp gain after the exhaust

so is there 2 different filters to get for K&N short ram??? i just got mine in the mail today and it has like a normal circle filter. not the oval one that was mentioned posts in this thread.

its getting cold here and i might put the intake on for a day or so just to see how much louder the stock BPV is vs just a K&N drop in filter.

sorry,not trying to thread jack.

You HAVE to tune for the intakes. No matter what brand.

Any way you can take a picture of this filter you got? It should be oblonged in circumference.

I can take one when I get home from work. Its just a regular circle shape, not the oblong one that was mentioned rpeviously in this thread.

Yeah that's not the same filter. Rotating that one wont do anything.
