K&N Intake for SS/TC
Stoked! After waiting a few months after letting K&N use my car for R&D they have developed a Typhoon intake for the car. Took the car in last Friday to let them test the fitting and make an instruction manual. I just got it back with the intake on as everything fit. Looks great and I can definitely feel the difference. Sounds good too. The gains were 12 hp and 14 tq. Will post pics and the dyno later tonight. The engineer said it should be on the market in about a month btw.
I really like the fitment it's very secure and does not rub on anything.
Here are the dyno sheets.

The real question is will it screw with the MAF, do you need to have the car tuned for the intake? Or will it bolt on with no issues. I have the Hahn intake and it was the root of all my problems.

Oh it happened. ^^
I'm in Victorville.
Two days for R&D and you even drove off with the intake?
It's bolted on. No tune. We'll see if I throw a code but so far so good.
The engineer did not know the price or if it was even set yet.

Heat shield? I did datalogging on my car with a CAI and a open-air SRI, and IAT's (pre-intercooler) were very close when moving. The only time IAT's got hot was sitting at a light or in a drive through, but even then IAT2's were almost exactly the same with either. So I'm not impressed by a heat shield, other than it looks good.

Either way I'm sure this product will not disappoint...I mean K&N has A LOT of experience with quality intakes on A LOT of cars...but we'll have to see how it reacts to some proper tuning.

fuel trims, not that it matters anyways since you'll be tuning the car for the intake if you go for a custom tune
Edit: I guess people wanna see HOW much they're off from the factory box. No sense in getting an intake if you aren't going to get tuned for it

Which stands regardless. There is no intake out there that produces perfect results out of the box. And if you get an intake, it will learn down, so you will need a tune to take advantage of it anyway..
