I'm not a tuner, I don't remember the specifics, like I said it was running maximum lean constantly.

I said I wasn't going to do a whole lot to mine :P did a ZZP tune and of course same crap as you wet outside but got a dry day and good lord that was a nice increase!! then a few months later got the SRI very cool, I was wondering why I never heard the turbo, but now it screams! got a filter wrap from K&N to keep the filter more clean so it doesn't collect dirt nearly as much.

I'll throw link up for it.. I've had open air filters on all my cars real PITA to keep clean and these are way nice! and fit the K&N SRI Amazon.com: K&N RC-4700DK Black Air Filter Wrap: Automotive

Had mine on upside down, maybe not in the same exact spot as the pics posted but it still threw CEL flipped it right side up and have had no problems for about a day now. Any ideas?

Just installed my K ans N SRI today. Very Nice! I'd been putting it off for awhile but finally decided today was the day. 12:30 position to start off with so we'll see if she throws a cel. Just got to get my down pipe on and tune and i'll be set.

Yeah it does. I was surprised though. It was louder but not as loud as i thought it would be. But still overall very nice addition. I was anticipating the "sound" for awhile.

I just installed mine this past weekend with the filter on upside down and have not had a single CEL. I live 72mi away from work and drive this car daily. I have noticed about a 1mpg increase, roughly 34.3, as compared to my stock 33.2 average. Just ordered a gms1 today to hopefully install this weekend! Anyone know if the dealer will have a problem with the SRI when I take it for the tune? I may put the stock intake back on just to be safe...

They shouldn't. Doesn't mean they won't. Dealers are so different from one to the other.

From what i went thru when getting gms1 installed, the dealership has to call GM HQ to get a code for the reflash. GM HQ is only open monday to friday.

I got put on the run around whem getting gms1 installed, i call the dealership and they said call tomorrow (thursday) and we will get you in, its going to be slow tomorrow...well i called them the next day and they couldnt get me in and they said the next opening they had was the following week, i was pissed and called 2 other dealerships and they said it has to be reflashed during the week.

Did you expect any better from a dealer? Haha

Luckily I am on night shift for a couple of weeks so I can try to get it done one day next week.

Yes the cutting and splicing can turn out to be a nightmare. Very good on getting the plug and play. Don't waste your money on the dealer install. Do it yourself, especially having the plug and plays it should be easy as pie. After installing yourself take it to them and pay them only to flash the tune.

And if you install the sensors yourself, after you install them and drive to the dealership to get flashed, while your driving you cant go into boost or else you will put your car in limp mode

Thanks for the info, I did not know that! Anyone have any tips on installing these sensors? I did buy the plug n play kit. I just need to make sure I can get the sensors installed, have it flashed by the dealer, and get to work by 3pm haha.

its super easy. the sensor on the intercoooler is kind of a pain in the ass but still easy install and will save you a few bucks.

here is the link from the CED website for the instructions

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/pdfs/frsp19212711.pdf its a PDF file.

when i put the lower sensor on (i was kind of in a hurry) i forgot to take the 'boss' off with a grinder,i tried for about 5 minutes to put it on and then i was like oh wait,i have to grind off a small peice of plastic lol

the kit from CED comes with 2 sets of rubber O-rings. one set is already on the sensors and a new set comes in a small bag (i forget the color of the new O-rings) but make sure u swap both of the O-rings out. the ones that are on the sensors when you get them are to small and may cause a boost leak from what ive read.

other then that its pretty striaght forward. and dont go into boost lol

you'll love GMS1.

Thanks for the info! I am definitely looking forward to the increase in power. I just passed 88k mi and decided it was finally time for an upgrade. That's actually the longest I've had a car without upgrading it. These cars are pretty damn quick and fun to drive stock.

The filter position thing is not 100%. Each car is slightly different and the installation can be slightly different. The only sure way to know that you arent skirting near throwing a CEL is if you use a scan gauge and monitor fuel trims for at least 100 miles to see if the trims fluctuate close to a CEL mode.
