launch control
i went to the track yesterday and tried different "mode uses" of the clutch with the comp mode. dumping it - horrible wheel hop and engine braking occurs
aggressive clutch (no dump) - tons of tire spin
less aggressive - clutch slippage
more aggreseive - tons of wheel spin then hop
front wheel/independent half shafts are hard to launch. throw in a turbo with hot boost...crazy comtrol probs. when i race my vettes (solid axle/rear drive) almost no hop...i have great reaction times, horrible 1/4 times due to too much tire spin/smoke...i have had the same trouble with other turbo cars i have owned...nature of the beast. i CANNOT imagine 300+ whp on these cars!!

If you want the traction control & stabilitrac completely off you have to hold the TC button for 10 seconds until the display reads ESC OFF
It's in the manual or supplement somewhere.
Comp mode does tone down the ESC some but not totally. If I throw the car around a lot in Comp Mode, it still kicks in.

I have never experienced anything like that....and you would be the first to ever report it.
It's probably in your head, but if not you might want to look into that.

I hated LC like the plague when I first got my car and I still wouldn't use it on the drag strip, but once you play with it, its actually pretty effective on a surface street... fun as hell to show to your friends as well... of course my friends are still impressed with the NLS, even though you can do it in pretty much any car, lol
No mine deff. is different in comp mode too. before i was tuned it wouldnt even boost to 18/19psi unless i actually had comp mode engaged, would only sit around 15/16psi. now that im tuned it will go all the way to 22/23psi as soon as the pedal goes to the floor weather im in comp mode or not. but there is a hell of a difference in the sound of the engine in comp mode even after the tune.
Press once - TC off...TC is just the limiting of engine power when it notices wheel spin
Press twice - LC and Competitive Mode activated...there should be NO power limiting because TC is off (not positive on this, but I believe it is the case...TC light never goes on when in this mode)
Press and hold for 5 or 10 sec - ESC is off...ESC is the stability control and doesn't have anything to do with TC...I believe ESC is a stability control for when the car senses it is going sideways...it uses each individual brake to get the car going straight again...
I'm not totally sure on this stuff...but this is the way I understand things...

Sounds like people are throwing a lot at you for answers. This was one of the features I was looking forward to when I bought the car, but haven't used it much since. The no lift **** is a pretty sweet feature, which you can use anytime, as long as you do it right - gas all the way down, shift without letting up - Keep playing around with your car and finding what's right for you.. either way, you should kill a civic!! HAHA GL
I'm not sure just how many launch control threads there are, but this is by far the least useful. I'd love for someone to make an instruction video on Youtube that actually shows how the car works--what buttons to press how you let the clutch out--that way I could link it anytime simple questions come up.
Ok, so do you guys think its possible in the future to upgrade the launch controls???? Can you do anything with HPTuners for the launch Control? Thanks
What do you guys think of this?
