Launch Control
So ive had this car for 7 months now and I must say it is my first stick car. I mean I had driven stick before but never owned a stick car. Been told im a good driver and decent launcher. So today I decided to try out launch control for the 1st time. I never tried it before since the mixed reviews. I must say its a nice advantage to have. 1st run. Put it in LC and let out the clutch rapidly. Got some wheel spin until about 3k then it spun again a lil at about 5-6. It was good.2nd run was pretty much the same. So my question is what do you prefer? Do you think LC is good to use in an actual race? My problem with normal launching is that I dont let the clutch out fast enough or I let it out to fast.

I tried it once and only once not too long after I got the car. It was a tire-burning, clutch-roasting, rev-limit-tapping mess. I've never used it since.
I launch myself now everytime and usually do an RPM between 2000-2200RPM. I tend to have much better success that way. If you work the clutch well, you can spool the turbo off the line as it is and maintain the balance between power and traction until you're out of first gear and on your way. The 4700-5000RPM range that the LC tends to put you in is pretty much useless.
On that note, Trifecta is working on releasing an adjustable RPM LC capability. That would then make LC useable, as you could then set the RPM for something more useful.

yeah the launch control pretty much is useless and you get better times without it like stamina said its set entirely too high which i don't understand why gm did that 5k is too close to 6300
i tend to try to launch around 2k and you have to side-step or slip the clutch as oppose to dropping it, when you drop you just sit at the line and spin just like you described
but i can't wait for vince to come out with the adjustable launch control thats gonna work wonders for us

5k RPM is just useless. It's way too high to launch at. Stock it gives wheel spin or starts bucking the engine. If you're putting out mroe power prepare for total fail.

Well from my experience I actually like lc and find it useful. I usually run a 200 treadware tire with decent grip. When I use lc I try not press the pedal to the floor. I match the throttle with Rev a lil over so lc is active. Next I feather the clutch out and give throttle as needed depending on current set up. Then use nls from first to second exactly at 6k rpm therefore holding boost with maximum performance.
Hope this helps it works for me.

used it a few times... too hard on my car... i'll never use it again... my tires barely broke loose... so where was the power going? hopefully spinning my clutch and not eating the transmission lol

srry i meant slip but you gotta be careful making sure you don't burn it but like everyone else is saying once you are tuned its totally different the car is just tricky to launch but practice makes perfect
like when i first went to the track after getting tuned i was actually slower than stock for a few runs but the traps were amazing just the fact i stood at the line b/c i was spinning

Hmmm well it makes sense cuz your restricting the power the wheels are actually seeing. I just have a fear of burning a clutch, she it my daily driver!

my ss is my daily too.... the stock clutch is can take a beating even when practicing launching i doubt you are gonna burn it out its not like you keeping your foot on the clutch the entire time

Yeah Idk I think for now ill stick to LC or if im feelin froggy I manual launch it

This totally defeats the purpose of Launch Control though. You're doing a manual launch if you do it as you describe here.
