This is a little odd
OP you'll want to do as suggested and get a hpt person to check it and tune, BUT you will want to read the intake thread, see how people with the k&n intake set their filter. And I would check for boost leaks, especially in the intercooler and charge piping.
Wrong, it depends on how the air flows over the intake. LNF is maf based. If the airflow the maf sees was tuned for how a stock K&N filter and you put a different filter on there you have to adjust the maf tables (trust me I did this on my car). I dont have my tuning comp next to me to see how the different filter effected my maf readings but it needed to be re-calibrated.
Thank you everyone! Yes, the previous owner replaced the K&N filter for a spectra for some reason. It's dirty so I figured I should order a new K&N filter for it. This Saturday I will be meeting up with someone that has a HPtuners so we will find out whats actually done to this car.
So I got tuned yesterday with HPT and as soon as he hooked up to my car he saw that there was a tune on my car already for what he believed to be full e85, I had been putting 91 in it since I bought it!!! That's whats bad about getting a car like this from a dealer who got it from an auction.
The tune didn't fix my boost issues though. No matter what he did it wouldn't go past 14psi. After replacing the bypass valve, took out that crappy catch can, replaced lines to the boost solenoid on the turbo and nothing helped. We then replaced the solenoid on the intake manifold with one from another car and that did it! We trimmed up on of the lines to it that felt a little lose and put mine back on and my car was boosting more but not what it should be, so I'm going to replace the solenoid.
