LNF Stage 2

For those who do not know, there WILL be a GM Stage 2 upgrade for the LNF motor. At the time this video was put out, they said anywhere between 4 to 6 months before it becaomes available. Hopefully this clears up any questions about it. Also, this is an older video so some of you might have seen it, and here it is:

It will be something that you will have to give probably 5 or 6 months, maybe even longer to go down in price. Cause once the initial bang in sales is over and the dealers end up with numerous SS/TC's on the floor the price will go down somewhat. But wow, the HHR SS over 25k?! I saw a silver one the other day, better looking in real life that the photo's show.

Well, remember though, the 290 hp is to the flywheel, not wheels. I'm not sure what the drivetrain loss is. But I'm not really as focused on the HP as I am the torque. Which is 319 I think is what they said. However, I can't make any judgements onhow it will perfom or anything, that we all will have to wait and see.

Why is everyone drooling over the ss/tc. No one understands that the DI fuel delivery is going to be an utter BITCH to tune 640 entries in the fuel table alone. That is more than the entire LSJ tune. Trading in the SC for the TC is ludacris. Unless you're SC is nearly paid off or you put a BIG downpayment on it, you'll be biting it in (-) equity/ Not worth trading it in.

Okay I like the 310trq that what he said right I mean 290hp not really much of an upgrade for a stage 2 kit knowing that stock it’s around 265hp. But in the other hand the torque is awesome. I don’t know if I heard him wrong on the torque if I did correct me.

The HHR SS is $22,995 including freight. Options are Sunroof, stripes, 6disc, Pioneer audio, head curtain airbags, XM, roof rails and the auto trans. With EVERY option they are $26,120 w/freight. and there is $1,000 loyalty money right now, so loaded is $25,120 and plain is $21,995. Not bad.

Expect the SS/TC to be somewhere between 22,590 and 23,495(but it comes with more stuff than the HHR does)

$22,735 - sticker on my '07 SS/SC
-$2,500 - GM Rebates (1 each at $500, $1000, and $1000)

= $20,235 out the door

Now that's what I call a bargain!

(and even if you add the dealer installed Stage 2, it's still only $21,185 )

Subject one:

I only paid a little over 23 for mine (Sticker price). No where near 25.

Subject two:

All I know is that I have a supercharged version, a stage two and maybe it's my winter tires, but I can't get traction for ****. 300 horses means nothing against AWD Evo's. I LOVE my car, but defnitely learned a lot about cars and tuning after this purchase. Any sports car I buy in the future is going to be RWD or AWD. I don't like having to make my car ridiculously faster than the guy next to me because I have to play catch-up. I'd like to make my car simply faster and come off the line even. I don't like that 2.2l (no offense) cobalts can keep up with my Stage 2 ss/sc for as long as they do.

I just ordered an HHR SS last weekend. Total came to $23,180. Options I got were 5 speed manual with LSD, performance drivers seat, 7 speaker system, and xm radio. I guess thats pretty good.. and there might even be a good offer by the time it gets delivered.

Ill go with you on that one bro, its insane for people and kinda of dumb for someone to trade in there 07 or 06 SC for a TC especially if you still own it. I was planning on doing the same but its like i rented are car for 6 months for 8,000. Thats crazy. What i recommend for allyou 06 or 07 SC is just to mod your car simply with a stage 2 you will be close to beating the TC

If the SS/TC is only 24K sticker, that would be perfect. I'd just use the Costco Auto buy program, and get it for exactly that, plus any other incentives GM is doing.

I agree with everyone that the guys with the SS/sc should not trade in, especially if its a 06-07. But I think most of the people that are gonna be trading in are all the 2.2L guys, like myself. I bought the LS balt, to try out my first econobox, and realized that I need more power than what this little thing has to offer.

Plus, I've driven the Sky Redline, and it was a blast!

Also, I don't really plan on doing any more than intake, exhaust, larger front mount and stage 2. That should make me plenty happy. If it gets to the point where new injectors are available in a year or two, and a lot of people are having success tuning, then maybe...maybe I'll get a larger turbo and HPT, and take it to the next level.

Who knows, maybe GM will support this car more, and they'll make upgraded injectors.

There already should be an aftermarket for the LNF but it's a joke. Why does everyone think that just because they put it in a cobalt there will be an aftermarket for it?

it would only make sense too....put the same engine in a car thats 6k less than the solstice and sky, letting more people buy it, not to mention its an easier car to drive in the winter months, for people who don't have a beater. i expect to see a just as big of an aftermarket for the ss/tc than the sky/solstice in about a year if not more.
