looking to buy, what to look for?

Well ive started my slow and very OCD process of buying a new car. I joined the army 8months back and should have debt paid off to free up cash for a cobalt. I aware of normal things to look for when i purchase a car: sloppy workmenship, replaced parts(knuckles spring ect), paint differences, poor up keep, ect.

This will however be my first time looking at a performance turbo car(08+ cobalt SS). What are things above the normal i need to look at in detail, around and for. that may show signs of abuse or the opposite a well cared for car.

Thanks in advance, and seems to be a great forum and community

Well If your gonna buy one soon then I would honestly get one brand new, then you dont have to worry about if anything is broke.

Because you would be the only owner, make sure you ask them if it needs a new psp,

(Powersteering Pump) They would fix that at the time of the purchase. 1.5 million or something like that got recalled, so check

Oh and make sure it has G85 Package, thats always a good thing

remember we have EPS. but yeah he is right. There is a recall on them. Something about the motors going bad causing a loss of power steering.

You can get one heck of a deal if you buy USED and you're patient. I'm picking up a 2009 SS with 8K miles (dealer) tomorrow and I paid 16K. Buying new is very costly although some dealers are still offering the 3K cash back deal on new SS's. The car I got is CERTIFIED (12k/12 mo BUMPER TO BUMPER No deductable) and has the factory warranty in place as well, so you don't give up anything buying used vs new.

Good luck!

it won't be ragged out...

u don't want someone's sloppy seconds when it comes to this car, or cars like these

1) very cheap, and easy to afford, so teenie boppers who dont know their dick from a pencil will do dumb things w/ them
2) rode hard and put up wet
3) you might catch aids
