Got a CEL after 50 of driving from having no cats .
I'm going to use anti-foulers to space the O2 out and see if that helps

gms1 still functions on request. meaning the ecm requests 300hp/320tq and the rest of the equipment falls in to place to provide that requested #.

If you add a catless dp, the ecm will just adjust back to 300hp/320. minimal benefit and wasted money.

btw, ive been biting my tongue on this, megan racing makes cheap parts. typically their "good 'nuff" and in the scheme of things, its pretty hard to **** up a downpipe. Its a ******* pipe, half the people in asia can do it blindfolded with better tig welds than youll see on fords. its JUST a pipe. There is no, this ones better than that one if their all the same ******* diameter size, material and shape. Megan as a company makes cheap ****. Does it work? yeah, is it QUALITY? **** no, its cheap, when the hell have cheap and quality ever gone together? Just look at megan coilovers, do they work? sure, but its efectively holding up a house with toothpicks. rubbery, bouncy, toothpicks. Would I personally ever buy from megan or give them business? hell no, but thats cus if you do a little research and talk to your local shops, they can make you this stuff cheaper. Its easy money for them and you dont support companies like megan that are proud and happy to have people buying the crap they try to pawn off as being top of line.

i have heard things about megan but like grishbok said its hard to mess up a pipe should i decided to save money and buy one the shops around me charged too much money to make one.

i haven't gotten a light yet and i drove around a lot yesterday so idk, i am running the trifecta tune so that probably deleted it anyway

but i like that it doesn't make noise until WOT so when i am running from light to light i don't get annoyed

Regardless of your experience with them its a decent item, Stainless steel pipe with quality welds, how is that any different than any other downpipe for the LNF?

Yeah but I thought that GMS1 got rid of the learn down feature? So wouldn't you still be getting the normal power out of it? Obviously you would get more power if you had an aftermarket tune specifically for a dp but didn't GMS1 get rid of learn down?

How is it different?
Megan..note they say nothing about Flex Section...Mandrel Bends:

Megan Racing

Hahn is the *Gold Standard*..yeah $175 more, but note what features they point out that Megan doesn't:

Hahn Racecraft - Automotive Turbosystems

I can tell you for sure that the Flex section in the Megan is nowhere near as strong as the Hahn.

Its the part after that, you know the one where you bash them for having garbage products and say you'll never buy from them... The same product that Hahn sells you for a couple hundred more on the selling point that the one bend in the pipe is "better" and the o2 bung is angled so you may not get a CEL.

Its not specifically your comment, its just dumb to hear people say Megan sucks when nobody that has this pipe complained about anything more that a CEL. I have it and it fit, and what do you know, I put a catless DP in and my Cat emissions code came up.

DONT BUY MEGAN RACING PARTS

I Had a Friend put a Megan Racing 3" Cat back on his Escort. The next Week His Refrigerator stoped working. Based this I will never buy from megan racing.

But seriously has anybody who has this on their Cobalt had any problems. Im thinking this would be a good christmas present to myself?

Had no problems, buy it. It is just as good as the Hahn, but you're not getting ass raped in the process.

any tugging on the exhaust to make it not rub?, or any fitment issues that seem to happen randomly to every other dp, lol?

I'm thinking about getting this. If my car is completely stock and I put this downpipe on it will it throw a CEL and do you think it will pass inspection in NC?
