might be bs, but just what I heard...

I was talking to a GM tech thats a friend of mine yesterday. He started talking about the gxp's. He said that people were putting on GM stage kits for these cars, but that they have had 3 in the past month or so come back with blown engines because of the stage kits.

So I'm not sure if anyone else knows anything about this or if its BS or not, but I just thought I'd share the gossip.

Not a clue, but if the ss/tc cobalt is going to run a low 14, I'd imagine the GXP would be a high 13.

*edit: I just looked, it shows that car and driver ran it at a 14.2

why are you talking without knowing what you are saying...how do YOU personally know that, besides THINKING you know what you are saying...

p.s. stg 2 for the lnf engine gives 300hp and 310 tq.

dont fool yourself into thinking people cannot get their hands on things before they come out.

I haven't seen anything on any "stage" kits for the LNF.

He might have meant aftermarket kits, who knows. But the ones with 'kits' are blowing up right and left according to him.

got a question for you. If my warranty last till 75k miles and my LSJ engine were to blow due to a manufacture defect will they replace it with the LSJ or the LNF?

They'd have to replace it with the LSJ not the LNF... nice try though.

If you can convince your dealer and GM to do that for you....I would probably consider letting you have sex with my girlfriend for being so awesome.

There are LNF kits out there that bump power to the 300-320hp neighborhood, but they are expensive. Mostly they are just tunes, but the ones with downpipes and exhaust with tune are making some stout horsepower. I don't really see the few extra PSI killing the motor that badly.

LNF's just with intake/tuning/catless turboback/FMIC they make 320+ wheel horsepower and make it really safe...Also i have heard of a few LNF's blowing up, they up the boost without tuning and that is a no no on these cars, Im going to do mine the smart way. God i cant wait......the LNF's are going to be srt-4 eaters another year from now.

Ok if I don't know what I'm talking about, then where in the **** are these GM stage kits at for the LNF then ace?

I doubt people in Wyoming have connections with people with people at the GM Performance Division that will give them an early release at the kits.

Yeah, some people don't know the difference between Powertrain Warranty and Bumper to Bumper. Chrysler is feeding of that ignorance right now.
