Yup, I do, but it's quieter since I'm catted!

I didn't want anything too loud, but something LOUDER than the stock exhaust. It was soo quiet!!

I'll get a vid of my car when I can and post it on here.

Do you know if this will void any part of the factory warranty other than the exhaust warranty? The shop doing the muffler delete for me wanted me to find this out first before I void my warranty completely. I don't think it will, but I just wanted to see if you knew of anything before I call the dealership and ask them. Even though they will probably tell me some BS story of why I shouldn't do it anyway. Thanks!

...do people understand what warrenty means?

muffler delete wont void ur warrenty. im pretty sure its impossible to completely void every warrenty on ur car. if ur muffler delete ***** something up its your fault, but ur muffler delete wont **** anything up. so dont worry about it

^^ exactly. They need to prove that the muffler delete caused the problem. Muffler does one thing and one thing only, MUFFLE noise. It also helps with back pressure, but our cars don't need much if ANY and the turbo creates enough back pressure as it is.

I got mine with 400 miles on the ODO. Don't worry about it! I now have 2300 and no problems to report!

I just had an exhaust installed on my truck and I was talking to the guy at the speed shop about a muffler delete. He said he could cut the top off the stock muffler and cut out the baffles then run pipe THROUGH the muffler. At first I just laughed, but now I'm thinking about it. You have to have a muffled car to get into some of the spectator class drags without getting kicked up to classes that I would suck in.

well, the shop that did my car cut the whole muffler off, COMPLETELY.

I have it sitting in my basement with the other car ****!

That corner keeps getting bigger. I have a victory red wing and front lip sitting down there right now!

hehe, ya I understand what you did . My point is it would make it look like you still have a muffler. Which may or may not ever be important.

Yeah I got ya, I guess it would make sense for those that re concerned about warranty work. Not that cutting a muffler voids your warranty though!

Anyone have a decibel reading on a muffler deleted car?

My stock exhaust is 78 dB at idle. No idea about at WOT

Just trying to get an estimate of how loud it is.

you don't need to go that far in depth bro!

if you like your car to sound a "little - moderately louder, then you will like the muffler delete.

I'm not a fan of "showing off" or anything, but I do like my powerful car to have some sort of sound. Hell, V6 Mustangs had a louder exhaust note than what my TC did!

And actually no it's not that hard. Get SPL Meter for an iphone and hold it next to the exhaust. Will cost you $1

Well my old Megan Exhaust was LOUD. I don't want that.

My second problem is passing inspection.

hmmm, I will do that since I have an iphone!

It will still pass inspection. Mufflers (stock) do nothing for emissions but lessen noise. That's why you have a cat.

Well we don't have emissions tests here, but I didn't know if it would pass without a muffler. Guess I could just ask the shop I take it to as they would be doing inspection as well.

It should. My shop said it would pass here without a muffler.

It's mainly a noise disturbance over anything for the muffler, but seriously it's not THAT loud at all.

A LOT quieter than your fart can civics!

Mine was a fart can Cobalt. Got rid of the 2.2 for this and I would have assumed the 2.0 would be much louder but it's not.

I just did a DB reading at dile after warmed up. It was pushing 84 DB, so it's not that much louder!

That's good news, except 77 to 84 dB is actually quite a bit of sound output. I bet that thing is loud at WOT

yeah, well I held the phone right up to the edge of the muffler. When I moved no more than 3 inches back it dropped to around 74, PLUS I did this in my parking garage at work that echoes sound off the walls. I'll take another reading this weekend with it outside and warmed up more.
