I'd imagine the module would have a backup battery like you said. I know my VOIP cable modem has one.

But anyways, the Cobalt holds up fairly well in crashes. The G5 didn't deform too much when I rolled it. Only injury I got out of that was a laceration on my hand that I didn't even need stitches for. I just glued it.

My air bag is deployed and my car is leaking fluids and gas and somehow the rear of my car catches on fire....I cannot move and then Onstar comes on the line asking me if I am okay...I saw I need help and medical treatment...He connects me right away with help. Despite minor injuries I walk away with minor bruises and burns...I am very, very lucky and believe my car saved my life...

I will post pictures later once I feel a little better, but I have them on my phone. The car is something else and I pray nobody ever gets into an accident, but if you do and have an accident similar like mine then I pray your car will do what the Cobalt did for me today.

^ Did your cobalt look like this after the accident?

The front end is smashed and the engine and the steering column dropped. My interior held up pretty well considering the impact...I would consider getting this car again or perhaps a Malibu or Equinox (for the start of a family soon), but I am impress that I only had minor injuries...I was still taken away in a ambulance since I was pretty out of it after impact.

So undoubtedly if you drive a balt you can't get hurt or something? haha

I rolled my 06 SS/SC twice, and just climbed out without even a scratch.

My airbags didn't deploy though

This feature of OnStar is the main reason I pay for it yearly since I spend a good amount of time on the highways at night by myself and thought it was a worthwhile service in the event something did ever happen. Good to hear you're ok !

I found out today that my car is going to be totaled (according to my insurance company USAA). They are offering 19K for my car. I just put new tires on it and new brakes (about 2 weeks before my accident). The other insurance company is saying they are only going to cover 60% of all my expenses, which is crap. I am not admitting to any faults. The other driver was cited two citations: failure to yield and driving without a valid driver's license. I probably will be seeking an attorney for difference in my pay-off and punitive damages. I'll keep everyone posted.

19000 for an 09 is not a bad deal! Thats more than what I still owe. Sue the pants off the girls insurance company. That is unexcuseable... They should pay for all expenses 100%. You were not at fault.. Do you have any other witness that can attest to the girl making an illegal turn? That would really help you out.
