Need the replacement air filter for my 09ss/tc

So its been 2.5 weeks and i still dont have my airfilter that the dealership had to apparently bring in from quebec. So i go in today and ask if its in. I have been told that the part hasnt even been released yet!

Just curious if anyone has had this problem or knows of what part number they should be looking for?

Greatly Appreciated

Does not the turbobalt use the same filter as every other 2.2/2.4 currently on the road?

No the 2.0L have a different filter then the 2.2 or 2.4, how much was the k&n set up for you? and do you have a part number for the k&n one?

the replacement oe filter cost me 41.56, my 2.4L filter used to cost me all of 25.00

No it has plastic ribs glued to it so it won't get sucked into the turbo

Yep the same one. I actually bought a K&N 2311 in stock at a local autozone so i can't believe that a replacement filter is so hard to come by.

$41 dollars... rip off! the dealership wanted to charge me $22 or so for a new one, but i solved that problem and made a custom short-ram intake. Makes the turbo about 10x louder and didn't cost a dime cause i got the filter from a friend... u might wanna consider it since it's pretty easy and = no more air filters

I stand corrected...two separate parts on GMPD. And of course the 2.0 filter costs almost double.

K&N's website lists this as the part number for the 2.0LNF: 33-2311. It's like 75 bucks thru their online store and at any Checker/Autozone I've seen though. Modernperformance.com sells them for 45 for our cars. I don't know what that converts to Canadian.

I can't find a replacement paper filter either. I won't use a K&N because they're inferior filters.

Delco can't even find the Delco filter for the SS/TC. It's a new part # apparently and doesn't seem to be well stocked.

I won't go into a large heated debate about K&N, but they don't filter as well as paper filters and rely on the tack oil for their paltry filtration efficiency. I don't want to run the risk of having tack oil stuck on my MAF sampling element or the insides of the turbocharger.

If you live on a dirt road or go off roading then i could see being worried. I've used K&N for years in all my cars and it's never been a problem. The only time you would need to worry about the oil from the filter..... is if you over oil it when cleaning .

True...it is amazing how long K&N has been around with an "inferior filter". Don't you think people would buy the cheap paper filters if they were truly better?

I always let mine sit for a good 3 hours before driving... let the oil dry up a bit and sink into the fabric

I just prefer paper filters. They have been proven to work well in all environments. K&N's have been used for decades as well, but I don't see any real benefit. Most paper filters aren't even a restriction in the air intake system.
