new cobalt ss turbo owner!

what up guys

just bought a 2009 cobalt ss after a long search in florida for the right one.

it has:
custom charge pipes and custom intake pipe w/ k&n drop in
turboxs bov recirc'd to intake
ais meth injection
a/f gauge
and tune boostin and holding 24 psi
possibly aftermarket intercooler
catless downpipe
eibach sportlines
ottp 1" rear sway

i have never been in a car this fast in my life so im really enjoying it right now. i mean the thing has nitto nt05 in the front and it spins in 4th @ 100. really is a blast to drive!

my only concern is how safe the tune is and if the turbo is spooling ok. there isnt any surge from what i can see and everything seems very very well done and well taken care of but i dont wanna boost too much if its a crappy tune...

pictures will be up when i have time to take them! proud to be kind of an old timer here at css.net when i had my ls and looking to learn alot from you guys while i mod away!

are you sure that is wheel spin or clutch slippage? i'm not doubting or bashing you but i did the same thing shifting to 4th one time and was like HOLY SH** it just spun at 100 MPH! then realized that it was clutch slippage. If you can see and feel youre RPM's fluttering up then back down it could be your clutch, and if it's the stock clutch then i wouldnt doubt it. may be something to look into. but enjoy the car man its def a fun little fuc***! lol

alright i know you guys are going to deny it but it was ABSOLUTELY not the clutch slipping. i tested for clutch slip by gassing it around 2000 in 5th and it held like glue. i flew by a friend going 110 on the highway and he said the tires were definitely spinning. im pretty sure the clutch is aftermarket bcuz its really tough to push in and when it grabs it GRABS.

theres also another thing, im starting to think thats it not stock turbo bcuz it literally takes 3500-4000 rpm to spool up and i thot these cars were said and done by 2k. but once it does holy ****! i drove my friend in it that owns a 2009 mustang gt with 3.55 option, cai, x-pipes, and bama tune and this car would blow the doors off that thing. his car runs high 12s btw

but seriously im not some dumb kid that thinks he has the fastest car in the world bcuz he had a slow one before. if ridden in many fast cars and this is def one of them. the turbo is soooo loud its unbelievable

so flame suit ready, but whatever u guys say it is not clutch slip and i know what clutch slip is...

i pm'd terminator2 bcuz he is local and im going to have him take a look and ride in it and maybe he can vouch for me

oh and stealth, its black. look on my older thread and you can find pics of it and blazin07ss telling me not to buy it. well i did and i think it was a good choice

thats how you test a clutch for slip. that is the most load you can put on a clutch.

thanks guys! i bought the car for 14800, 2009 27k miles. sunroof, g85, bluetooth and the thing is in impeccable condition. i cant even find a swirl mark on it haha idk who had it before me but they obviously took great care of it. and even tho its modded, the craftsmanship is unbelievable. terminator pm'd me back and were going to set up an appointment to check out tune possibly he can even work out any kinks in it already! i feel like driving it all the time but im babying it for now bcuz i dont want the clutch to start slipping and who knows who tuned this thing. i dont have a camera with me now as im at ucf but when i get back i will take pics of everything and maybe a vid. but the link posted is the car so u can look at it there. looking forward to a great next few years with this car and hope to learn alot from you all. if anything pops up ill let you know but for now i couldnt ask for more except traction haha

thats great man. and for the mods and everything i think you got a decent deal since you barely have to throw money in it other than clutch maybe and probably turbo upgrade with time lol. thats good man. glad to hear this

That car does have a MBC. Not sure if it is running a stock tune with the MBC and meth or not I cannot tell 100% but it looks like a stock turbo.

Not sure if it has a tune or not. That MBC can turn the boost up without a tune but I will be able to tell with a quick data log if it is a stock tune or not. I can also pull the tune from the car but that will take me 30 minutes or so extra time.
