New-ish SS/TC owner
New-ish SS/TC owner
Well, I thought I would just introduce myself to the Cobalt community. I just bought a little over 3 months ago a 2009 Cobalt SS/TC. It's black on black and fully loaded except for the wing, I have the low rise spoiler which is a good thing because I really don't like the look of the high rise...
I decided on the Cobalt after a few cold winter months of browsing every forums and sites about different options I was looking at (speed 3, wrx, si...). In the end, the SS/TC was the best all around bang for the buck. It's saying a lot about the car coming from a guy like me, I used to talk against anything GM in the past...
Anyway, to keep it short I plan on modding this thing. So far I've done
-debadging, more for looks and I like it
-window tints
-TWM Performance short shifter with Big Type R shift knob and the base bushings (best shifter I've felt in a long while!)
-short antenna
The next mods on my list are downpipe, charge pipes, tune and suspension.
Sorry for the long intro post but thanks for looking!

Welcome nice to have another
SS/TC owner
I too used to not be a fan of anything domestic until I read what Car & Driver had to say about the SS/TC in one of their lightning lap comparos and then when I drove it I was sold.
PS: Black FTW

It's my first black car, I really like the color but it's a pain to keep clean... I'm no more at the age where I like washing a car twice a week!!!
Oh, my list is just fine like this for me. I did quite a bit of research (a lot actually) and the only power mod I want right now is the downpipe. I also want charge piping for extra safety over the stock plastic crap. I'll get the tune once it's done so I only have to get it tuned once. I'm not planning any other mod powerwise for a few years so it's the best way to go.
The good thing with researching is that I'm not going to start multiple threads asking about different parts. I know exactly what I want and from which vendor I'll order. That's why I did not hesitate to go with TWM shifters at first because I knew it was better than anything else on the market!
While I'm here, anyone in here have BC Racing coilovers installed? I posted in the suspension part of the forum, but no feedback yet. I'm looking for a nice review on these installed on the SS/TC!
That's a nice list you have there and more than enough to have tons of fun with this car!
Glad you like your TWM Short Shifter!
