no power!!!

so.... today right... pretty hot... inlet air temp was always over 100... even with the huge FMIC...

i ALWAYS spin 2nd gear.... today i floored it.. twice in second... both times car felt really slow... and car wouldnt even chirp.... nothing...

im thinking its the heat.... anyone agree ?

how come my car had such little power today...

i have the trifecta push button tune thing... and with the tune on it felt like it was off tbh...

im sure the heat, and if its like it is around here in MA, humid. its not going to help. my SS/NA ran 14.9 on a cool fall day @ 55* Fahrenheit. ran 15.8 -16.1 on a hot august afternoon. i can see it being very possible. if it rains and cools down tonight, take it out for a spin.

Yes 2 things come with heat. One the floor is hot as **** and so are your tires. They will grip well, much better than they would when it is 60F. Second the hot air=less dense air=less power. That's why at times on hotter days your car might boost a few pounds more to adjust for the heat and loss of "air" to make up for the power.

Heat and summer gas. Most of you guys stop driving your cars in the winter. I stop driving mine in the summer. It's hotter than the 4th level of Hell here, from June through September.

mines not tc but from what css3 tells me the heat is what is making my car feel like it has less power. 100 Farenheit ftw!

that's odd. I don't get how so many LNF guys see such high iats when normal cruising. When I had my car, on stock charge pipes and intercooler my iat2 temps were usually about 5-10* above ambient at most when cruising. I really think that those metal charge pipes allow a lot of heat soak.

Metal cold pipe = not so cold TMAP. Stock is best for the cold side.

well... outside temp was 90 degrees too... sooo... yeah... during city driving and while getting stuck at the long lights it would reach as high as 130...

actually it hit 130 when i was revving my no muffler exhaust in the parking lot for my friends. haha

backfiring and what not...

but for the most part... it stood around 100* while moving. and 115-120* while parked at a light.

if you're right around +10 iats from ambient then you're running normal temps. It's just damn hot outside. 85*+ heat and humidity kill power quite noticeably. It's just as hard to breathe for your car as it is for you in extreme heat and humidity. For some reason I read your sentence as "the outside temp wasn't even 90"

and honestly... when i was on 350hp mode... it felt just like 250hp... even tho i was boosting 21-22psi
