Noise on the tranny 1-2 shift?

Hey guys...

I just got the TC a few days ago, and I've been hearing this clunk every shift on the 1-2... My dad who has a ton more experience on a stick than me gets it too. I feel like it's normal and I'm just being paranoid, but I figured I'd ask if anyone else gets this... Is it just the transmission making noise changing gears?

The car performs 100% okay and the shifter finds each gear just fine. Any input is appreciated.

I have almost ten thousand miles on mine and it still does this sounds kinda like a u joint clunk it only does it when the car is shifted early in areas the speed doesn't allow try and shift a little higher rpms like 3,ooo or so then they don't do it but thiese cars beg to be shifted early because even when you do the power is sufficient to do it.

mine clunks sometimes too. I agree that it seems to be more in the low rpm band.

Sounds good, thanks guys. It seems like what you're saying is exactly what I'm experiencing, typically lower in the RPM band. I've been shifting really early since I'm just breaking it in and it has the torque to handle it anyway.

Our max torque hits at 2000rpm. Mine clunks a little too. I am still practicing the "no-lift shift". I don't get it into 2nd sometimes. Embarrassing...I've been driving a stick for 30 years!

I get the clunk too. Also seems to be low RPM related.

I get the clunk I have 3003 miles. I don't know if it always did it, but I just noticed it recently.

I have 42k miles on my SC and I get that clunk in the 1-2 shift. I think it's normal.
